I propose, and I am not a dramaturge, that the Bush White flag ad should be turned on its head. With ads from folks with money.
A strong man is prepared to admit his mistakes. A brave man is prepared to say he was wrong.

Mind, you, I am not a dramaturge. However, a series of ads going back to George Washington admitting he chopped down the cherry tree, and perhaps some modern children, each doing something wrong, realizing they did something wrong, and making proper restitution, contrasting to shots of Bush refusing to admit there was any doubt and trying to threaten people, might have some effect.
A sufficiently pointed ad, like the little girl and the flower, need not even be aired to be effective.
