Stand up for Lynne Stewart.

If the Democrats are truly the party of values then they will stand up for whomever it is that deserves to be stood up for and damn the consequences.

Lynne Stewart is not a liability. She should be treated as an asset to the Democratic Party since the act of defending her gives us the opportunity to stand up for the rule of law and for the values to which America has supposedly been committed since about 1776.

Does this mean that defending Stewart is a slam-dunk that will help us return to power in Washington and in the rest of the country?

No, it doesn't, but if you want to win the biggest wars, then you have to be willing to fight the biggest battles and this is true even if you might lose some of those battles.

(I have purposefully left out all details about the Lynne Stewart trial and her actions that our government has called into question. I can't make you care about this issue but it damn sure is an issue you should care about, so I encourage you to research it for yourself).
