There was a diary entry just before the holidays concerning the needs of the wounded soldiers coming through at Ramstein Airbase. I can't find it now, but this is a follow-up to it. This is for anyone else interested in helping there:
Subject: Any Current Need?
Hi Lori,
I'm in Phoenix Arizona and would like to know what current needs may still exist for the wounded soldiers at Ramstein Air Base. The DFA meetups held the first week of January would be a good collection point where we could send items from and we are very interested in doing so. Any updated information you can send would be useful.
Thank You for bringing this to our attention.
Catherine

Dear Catherine,
Thanks for your inquiry and support. The project began as a Civil Air Patrol endeavor, but anyone is welcome to participate. We've received nearly 100 packages to date and several monetary donations, with more arriving daily. I collect boxes from the post office and give them to another member of our squadron who logs in the package, and sends a post card notice to the sender. Our cadets inventory and sort the contents, which are then delivered to the chaplain's office at LRMC. Both we and the Chaplain's office have been swamped and are inundated with goods. The best thing to send would be money that can be used to pay for haircuts for the wounded, phone cards, and such things as movie passes to the base theaters.
We've been having problems with the post office at Ramstein AB being upset that so many packages are coming into my personal PO box. Please send any shipments or checks to our official unit address:
Ramstein Cadet Squadron NHQ-OS-119
Civil Air Patrol
Unit 3395
APO AE 09094
Thanks again for your support.
