A poll released today by the Chicago Tribune gives a clue as to what to expect in the general election in states that are not high profile primaries. In Illinois, a Dem-leaning state, 48% would rather W. not be re-elected, compared to 40% that would. But when W. runs against Howard Dean, he still wins 46% to $40%! Perhaps we should all open our eyes to the fact that a vote for Dean in the primaries is a throw-away vote in the general. Dean won't win a single state, and that's a pity because this president is very vulnerable.
