Foreign policy experience:

Yes, I know there are plenty of former Peace Corps directors out there, and even more former ambassadors. But how many have served as a two-term governor of a swing state. And not just any swing state. Richard Celeste was governor of the swing state of 2004:
After two years Ambassador Celeste returned to Ohio to wage a successful quest for the Governor's Office. Celeste was elected in 1982 and reelected in 1986.[...]
The only liability I have found so far is his divorce in 1995.
So what's not to like?
