Have you heard people talking about Bush, Rove, and the leak...or any other political thing on the street, or on the subway or bus? Have you wound up in conversation with total strangers about any of these issues?
I am a somewhat zealous eavesdropper, and this is only occasionally thwarted by my penchant for listening to my mp3 player constantly. Last night, I was on my way to the subway talking about Rove and the leak and noticed someone eavesdropping on my friend and me, and today at some point, I'll probably be in a cafe "reading" to do research on my book and actually hope that I overhear people talking about the scandal. I'll make all kinds of inaccurate judgements about the meaning of what people are saying In Park Slope; it's my informal, accidental poll, but such a poll would be more "scientific" if it were a collective endeavor.
To make this easier, since it will be hard to simply catch the odd over-heard Rove conversation, you can put examples of Rove-leak chatter you engage in more directly with friends at parties and whatnot on this open thread. Eavesdropping and conversation, "man on the street" interviews: what we used to do before we believed the blogosphere was a reflection of the spectrum of world opinion. So, anyone hear anything good, bad, interesting out there in the atmosphere? What are people talking about?
