I thought it would be a good idea to have a diary for us to put our experiences today. I was in NYC and was so jazzed at the turnout. Should have taken my camera but was glad to see the Diary below about Bush as a Uniter that has tons of photos from the NPR site.
NYC was sunny and that helped the attendance. It seemed to me to be almost as big as a year ago but it was a little hard to tell from where I was and also got home too late to see the regular news and world news. The crowd wasn't hostile or confrontational and people were openly friendly to me everywhere as folks loved my T-shirt which turned out to be a great ice-breaker (It had a W like an upside down "M" McDonalds arches in yellow saying "George W, Billions of Corporations served"). I think at least 30 or more folks stopped me asking to photograph it as well as my sign ("Elect a Mad Leader, You Get Madness" over Dubya's photo). If only he was elected, I should have put (S)elected.
The few speeches I heard were a little shrill and not as good as last year but i was away from the speakers set up on Madison and 27th and may have missed some good ones but am not sure. Anyway, would love to hear your stories.
