The reason why the left is unable to mount a credible anti war movementis because of an unfortunate tendency to latch onto any convenient argument which would serve their immediate purpose without any respect for principle or the truth.
There are a few things that really stick in my craw. The ludicrous equating of arguably the two most popular political parties in Iraq SCIRI and DAWA with the Mafia must be exhibit A. Now you can call these parties fascists, extremists anything else but they are not organizations existing solely for crimnal enterprise. This sort of nonsensical rheotric making it impossible to point out what is actually the problem with them. But the prime reason for the opposition to them on the left to them seems to be because they happened to be beneficiaries of this war, no greater principle involved just partisan point making.
Next up, Cindy Sheehan. Does she have tremandeous moral authority, absolutely. Does that give her the right to set policy, prime reason why not even Democratic candidates do not want to be called leftists. See no common sense either.
Farenheit 911- Can anybody with even the smallest respect for truth really imply that the Bush foreign policy is influenced by the Saudis. Why let the truth get in the way of a nice, low shot. See no truth either.
Is it any wonder at all that a transperent liar like Bush gets elected to a second term, the people know the opposition is no better.
