Similar to other polls, the Diageo/Hotline Poll from Tuesday shows a popular President, an unpopular AIG (Bernie Madoff beat out AIG on the favorability scale), and an improving right/wrong track.
The Poll finds more voters say the country is on the "wrong track" (49%) than say the country is headed in the "right direction" (39%). However, the percentage of those saying "right direction" is up seven points from 32% in last month's Poll and the percentage saying "wrong track" is down six points from 55%.
I graphed those Diageo/Hotline right/wrong numbers for a quick visual:
The other interesting bit is this:
News about "Bonuses" Drives Voters' Desires for MORE Regulation of Financial Services and LESS Financial Assistance to Other Industries
People don't want to spend money, but are all in on more regulation.
So where does that put us in terms of overall Presidential job approval?
Looks like someone has a slight uptick on that high sensitivity graph.
The Diageo/Hotline Poll was conducted 3/26-29 by FD, surveyed 800 U.S. RVs, and has a margin of error +/- 3.5%.
