We're rapidly getting to the point where reports on Mark Sanford's whereabouts are like Elvis or Big Foot sightings.
The latest comes from CNN, which reports the car Mark Sanford's government car -- the one he is thought to have used on his "vacation" -- has been found in the Columbia, South Carolina, airport parking lot.
CNN says a law enforcement official tipped them off to the car's whereabouts.
The SUV is outfitted with blue police lights and two-way radio. Inside the vehicle: A baseball cap, running shoes, sunscreen, a pair of shorts, a canvas bag and a sleeping bag.
A parking permit for the school attended by Sanford’s children is visible on the windshield.
Columbia is a bit over three hours by car from Atlanta, where an anonymous source to a South Carolina TV station claimed Sanford boarded an airplane last week.
According to Sanford's staff, he'll resurface tomorrow. Maybe then we'll start getting the real story of why he went incommunicado, and what he was doing during that time.
