Kerry doesn't have to go hard left to deal with Nader. He just needs to pick one or two safe issues -- universal health care or renewable energy -- and then take a bit more of a progressive stance.
But moving further to the right does not win for Kerry. Any move far enough to gain votes from right leaning independents will only alienate more of the Democrats base, and we get four more years of Bush.
Damn, but don't the Democrats learn from the Republican party? The GOP locks up their base, and then they get just enough of the cetner to win. Why msut the Democrats insist on screwing their own base in a vain attempt to get more votes from the right?
thx,
Eric
