These folks from Ohio, were onto something when they argued against the "flaws" in the the "theory" of "Intelligent Design", back in 2000:
"The intelligent design people say there are too many holes in the fossil record, and that evolution is only a theory; the scientists say there's not enough evidence of intelligent design. So we say, instead, that life has indeed been designed, just not very well."
More follows...
Again, the lack of funding killed their "scientific quest for truth and evidence" but before they left they made quite relevant contributions, today archived and preserved thanks to the "internets":
"There have been 23 elephant-like animals in history, and yet only two survive today (and we add, they're not doing very well). Clearly, this is the mark of an all-powerful creator who is stuck on the same stupid idea and can't figure out why the hell they keep dying off. Hmm, perhaps it's because giant, big-eared mammals with huge, prehensile noses are ridiculous? I mean, WTF? A giant, powerful, grasping... nose? It looks like something a preschooler would make up."
One of their experts is the creator of this brilliant presentation of the "elephant case-study":
As noted before, the lack of funding was their problem. I do believe that they were way ahead of their time. In fact, I would argue that this person would be more than willing to be their "spokeswoman" today:

As I wrote, their demise was a great loss for science in the USA.
