Ladies and gentlemen, meet the incoming Republican chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, Rep. Ralph Hall (TX), as he explains why BP's oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico “didn’t dampen his enthusiasm for offshore drilling.”
As we saw that thing bubbling out, blossoming out – all that energy, every minute of every hour of every day of every week – that was tremendous to me. That we could deliver that kind of energy out there – even on an explosion.
No word on what Hall thought about the ecological devastation in the Gulf, the economic slam the entire Gulf coast region took, or the eleven men who died during that "tremendous" occasion. Oh, or any mention of his post-explosion cigarette.
