PPP's latest poll of Kentucky shows Rand Paul effectively tied with State Attorney General Jack Conway (an O2B candidate):
The Kentucky Senate race is looking more competitive than it has in months, with Republican front runner Rand Paul leading Dan Mongiardo just 42-38 and Jack Conway only 41-40.
Paul, who surged to a double-digit lead over his Republican primary opponent Tray Grayson in our most recent poll, is heavily favored to be the GOP nominee. Grayson, however, is in a stronger position to win the November ballot: he leads Conway by a 42-34 margin and Mongiardo by a 43-35 spread.
In December, Paul led both Conway and Mongiardo by a 42-36 margin. Paul now leads Mongiardo by 4, but his lead over Conway has shrunk to 1 point, making the race a dead heat.
In the Democratic primary, Conway isn't just the better candidate for Democrats, he'd also be the better Senator. Read Steve Singiser's Orange to Blue profile of Conway to learn more about Conway, and if you like what you see, please send a contribution in Conway's direction.
