In reading (and living) this:
The East Coast broiled under an unforgiving sun Tuesday as the temperature soared above 100 degrees in several cities, utility companies cranked out power to cool the sweating masses and the unlucky sought any oasis they could find.
... I'm reminded of the reaction from the climate change deniers during last winter's east coast blizzard. There was Sen. Jim DeMint's mocking tweet:
... Sen. James Inhofe's family having fun building "Al Gore's new home:"
... and Glenn Beck channeling God:
But as the local forecast in my little normally-in-the-80's corner of the world reads:
... I'm wondering where the denier's mockery is today.
Of course record highs and lows are set everyday, somewhere, but local records only count inasmuch as they affect the global temperature average. And that trend is definitely on the rise. And like the heat wave enveloping the East Coast, don't expect the deniers to mention that either.
