At least that's how my ex describes it (in Skype texts)...
She just returned and says that she was almost detained at the airport suspected of being a spy and/or a journalist (but was released in return for a considerable bribe). She said that journalists from TV 5 (Italian) and the NY Post were detained. She saw tanks being brought into Tunis, describes the situation as a "war" in some cities; says the President's family has fled the country. She lived through martial law in Poland, but never felt as scared as she does now in Tunisia. She was a little concerned how much she could say - we're hoping no one reading her Skype understands Polish.
Apologies that this will be a hit and run diary ... it's well past my bedtime (several time zones East of Tunisia).
