Five years later I still have a tumor in my head that can't be operated on, but for now (according to my doctors) it seems to be stable and non-cancerous.</p> <p>So for the third (and probably my last) year, I'm participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Last year I did the Relay in honor of Senator Ted Kennedy (who was still alive at the time). This year I'm walking in honor of my aunt. She was the first person in my family that I know of who died from this horrible affliction.</p> <p>I've asked for your help in the past and you've come through. I&rsquo;ve worked on Democratic campaigns since 2004 (when I was in 10th grade), and although I have gotten small compensations from those campaigns before, the biggest pay-off was finally being able to vote. Especially for a candidate that I truly supported.</p> <p>Don&rsquo;t get me wrong, I supported Kerry in 2004. I had hoped that he would win, but to be completely honest I knew he wouldn&rsquo;t. Now I&rsquo;m supporting a candidate that I watched on TV that very same year make a terrific speech in front of a large convention crowd in Boston. I was just starting to get an interest in politics then, but I knew that I would be voting for Obama one day.
