<title>Freedom Cages in Denver</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/15/568250/-Freedom-Cages-in-Denver</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I understand that this is a less than fully developed diary at this point, and for the most part I am writing this stream of consciousness, but I was recently confronted with some startling imagery. &#x26;nbsp;Internment after the bump.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>When Was the Last Time You Were Shot Down in Nam?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/30/544463/-When-Was-the-Last-Time-You-Were-Shot-Down-in-Nam</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;The media is bugging out over its completely inability to grasp a shift in the debate. &#x26;nbsp;It thought it knew the terms, but the spoiler for their free ride has arrived -- Former Supreme Allied Commander, General Wesley Clark.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;General Clark has been making the rounds praising John McCain&#x27;s fortitude and courage while repeating that you cannot run for president on being brave when you have very bad judgment. &#x26;nbsp;It was only a matter of time before someone hit him on it, and little did he expect it would be a respected reporter on CBS&#x27;s &#x3C;em&#x3E;Face the Nation&#x3C;/em&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;John McCain has shown his awareness of these tactics, even joking that he has not &#x22;beaten [his] wife this week.&#x22; &#x26;nbsp;That is the question which concerns us at the moment: &#x22;When was the last time you beat your wife?&#x22; &#x26;nbsp;No matter which way you answer, the reporter will get a soundbite that says what he wants.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>What&#x27;s Wrong With Obama!? (Why McCain&#x27;s So Close)</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/17/537349/-What-s-Wrong-With-Obama-Why-McCain-s-So-Close</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Once again, MSNBC&#x27;s Andrea Mitchell probes into polling data to figure out why John McCain is so close to Barack Obama in Gallup Daily Tracking Polls (4 points) while George W. Bush&#x27;s approval ratings are so low.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;When she asks her guest why, he goes on to further elaborate on how poorly the GOP brand is doing compared to the Democratic Brand. &#x26;nbsp;Who do you want in Congress? &#x26;nbsp;Democrats of course.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;After a fairly lengthy speech, Andrea Mitchell points out that this fails to answer her question, but she offers a few numbers:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;When people were polled on whether the country is on the wrong track, they responded.
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;Right Track: 14%
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;Wrong Track: 84%&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;For a poll on whether John McCain would change direction, the producers waited until the end of the broadcast to kinda-sorta flash up the actual numbers behind McCain so quickly I wasn&#x27;t sure it actually happened.
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;Yes: ... (I don&#x27;t know)
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;No: 68%&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;A clear preponderance of people think this country is doing badly and that John McCain won&#x27;t help.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;And she poses her question again, &#x22;Why is Barack Obama not doing better?&#x22;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary Clinton Adds Nothing To The Ticket</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/12/534735/-Hillary-Clinton-Adds-Nothing-To-The-Ticket</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;The latest NBC/WSJ polling from June 6-9 has come in with some positive news for Barack Obama.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25096620/&#x22;&#x3E;http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;What is especially interesting is what this means for Hillary Clinton on the ticket.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>The 2008 Democratic Primary: A Sports Metaphor Explanation</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/5/530412/-The-2008-Democratic-Primary-A-Sports-Metaphor-Explanation</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Listening to a Clinton supporter on The Daily Show last night, I have decided that some still have no idea what just happened and I fear they will use their confusion to justify some boneheaded decision like voting for John McSame. &#x26;nbsp;So, for the sake of summarizing things chronologically so people don&#x26;rsquo;t feel like Hillary Clinton had the nomination taken from her somehow, I will summarize it as succinctly as I can ... using the completely non-universal language of the boxing metaphor.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;This is kind of long, but so was the contest.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>A typical black immigrant (an African American perspective)</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/25/483630/-A-typical-black-immigrant-an-African-American-perspective</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I read another diary explaining a black immigrant&#x27;s perspective on African Americans. &#x26;nbsp;This is not meant as an attack, although the title may imply it is so, but I feel that I have a very unique perspective on the relationship between black immigrants and African Americans. &#x26;nbsp;You see, I&#x27;m the child of both.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Jump (for my love)...&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
