<title>Letter to the unknown tyrant.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/4/23/860225/-Letter-to-the-unknown-tyrant</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;We desire you, we need you, and you do not come to us. Why do you make us wait? Do you not see us gathered together in parks and plazas, in our Real American hometowns and on television? We stand together, our voices joined in hymns of anger; blind, unreasoning anger. Anger at them, or them, or Them. Give us our Them.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;We long to despise Them.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Okay, fine- We actually are trying to turn America socialist. </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/11/15/804689/-Okay-fine-We-actually-are-trying-to-turn-America-socialist</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Since January, not a single day has gone by without some talking head or internet conspiracy expert going on about the Democratic and liberal ploy to steal everyone&#x27;s freedoms by secretly turning this into a socialist country. We thought they wouldn&#x27;t figure it out, but they have. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Now that we&#x27;re busted, I think it&#x27;s time to take a page from the books of the best villains and reveal the details of our evil plot to destroy America.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Mustache twirling and maniacal laughter included.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Opinion: The Healthcare Debate and our Relationship with Government.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/8/1/760651/-Opinion-The-Healthcare-Debate-and-our-Relationship-with-Government</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Since January, we&#x27;ve been in a national debate about the role of government in our daily lives, in the form of how we should ask, and allow, our government to intervene in our nation&#x27;s medical system. On one end, we have a cross section of Americans who have been beaten down by the corrupt, broken system we&#x27;re stuck with right now, people not directly affected that feel a moral imperative to help the sick, and people who know we can get a better return on our health care investment. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;And then you have the other side, singing a signal tune called &#x22;Government will ruin everything&#x22;. &#x26;nbsp;Whether the argument is the bloated cost of reform (never mind the savings), theoretical rationing, accusations of forced euthanasia, or any number of other songs, the music is the same: &#x22;Government is not the solution to our problem; government &#x3C;em&#x3E;is&#x3C;/em&#x3E; the problem.&#x22;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Reagan&#x27;s golden oldie has been the theme song of the conservative movement for over 25 years now. For all it&#x27;s effectiveness, it tells us the reason they&#x27;re so incredibly set against health care reform, and why they can never compromise, even to place themselves on the right side of history.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
