Watch Gloria Allred Presser with new Trump victim LIVE-- UPDATED WITH SUMMARY

Here we go again… scheduled to begin soon.

abc3340.com/…

From Ms. Allred.

Summer Zervos from season 5 of The Apprentice. 2006. Fired in week 1 of the show. Didn’t plan on coming forward until the Access Hollywood tape. Shared story with 2 other people at the time and was verified by Allred. Donald Trump believes he can say and do what he wants. Lays out other disgusting claims previous reported . Incident took place at Beverley Hills hotel after he met with her to discuss job opportunities and he accosted her, kissing, fondling and tried to get her into his bedroom. Women will not be silenced, won’t be bullied, ask him to seek help.

From Ms. Zervos

Had admiration for Trump. Saw him as potential mentor even after. Met him in NY after show. Kissed her on lips. Flattered her. Would love to work with her. He would meet with her when he was in LA. He kissed her again upon leaving and got her phone number. Kisses confused her but

He called her when she returned home. Called her his OC Angel. Days later he was in LA and arranged to meet her for dinner but when she got there she was led to a bungalow where she waited for him. When he came out he kissed her again and had her sit next to him. He kissed her, groped her, tried to get her in the bedroom. She rebuffed him. He kept pursuing her. Wanted her to lie down and watch TV. She stayed away but did not leave. They had dinner delivered. He made her hide when it was delivered. As they ate it was back to business. He gave her the advice to go into foreclosure on her house and then the bank will have to settle with her. Smaller version of what he dies. Said he wanted to talk to her more about employment and wanted to meet her at a golf course the next day. She was confused as she left. Thought pass might have been some kind of a test. She went to golf course but he never showed. Later called and offered a job for a salary that was half of what she asked. Blew her off afterwards.

After Trump announced people at her business would ask her about Trump. She felt guilty. She sent him an email revealing her pain and confusion but never heard back from him. Then when the Access Hollywood footage came out she felt she had to speak out. Bottom line she looked up to him and he took advantage.

She’s a Republican. Very emotional when speaking. No intention of pursuing litigation but Allred will represent if she is sued. MAny women have contacted Allred but she doesnt know if any will be coming forward.

I apologize for such a sloppy summary but I’m sure there will be more on this to be found.

None of this is surprising at this time but Wow. He’s a predator and he’s running for president.

The day a white man fought a black man - a lesson for tonight

June 11, 1982 is a day that I will never forget. It is also one that I believe tells us all we need to know about how tonight will turn out. Please read to the end and hopefully you’ll catch my drift :)

The most important thing to remember? Don’t believe the hype.

In 1982 the world of boxing was as racially polarized as it has ever been. Larry Holmes was the heavyweight champion of the world and It had been 22 years since a white fighter had held that title. A fact that unsurprisingly had a certain segment of the population antsy to the point of rage. Enter to this reality “Gentleman” Gerry Cooney— The great white hope who had up to this point won his first 25 professional fights..

Now I don’t want to say anything bad about Gerry as a person. He was in fact a true gentleman and his charitable endeavors post boxing cement that legacy. The thing is though for as good of a man Gerry was he just wasn’t that good of a boxer. He was an OK boxer I’ll give you but nowhere near as good as Larry Holmes.

Larry Holmes was a great fighter who to that point had compiled a 39-0 record. Larry’s biggest strength was an incredible long, straight jab. Not the most crowd pleasing weapon like a big right hook but a precise workmanlike punch that slowly but surely wore down his opponents.

Gentleman Gerry never had a chance. In boxing there is an axiom that styles make fights and Gerry was a slow plodder with a big punch and a big heart but poor defense. He had never been in the ring with an opponent of Larry Holme’s caliber. Holme’s jab would be more than enough to keep Cooney at a distance until the inevitable happened and Cooney was felled. Everybody who knew boxing and could look at the fight objectively knew that’s what would happen but somehow the general public never got the memo and on the day of the fight Holmes was just a meager 8:5 favorite in a match he surely couldn’t lose.

There’s many reasons for that of course. The first obvious one was that like in all prize fights those promoting the fight have a vested money interest in the fight being seen as competitive. Thus the reason why despite his inferior pedigree Cooney was given equal billing and received the lions share of publicity and magazine covers. His 25 wins were portrayed as remarkable and his skill exaggerated even though truth was his was a “padded” record if there ever was one. Another factor just had to do with Larry Holmes himself. Larry was very good fighter but easy to dislike. Like I said before he didn’t have the flashiest arsenal in the world, he just won. Another thing going against him was the fact that his predecessor with the belt was Muhammad Ali. Holmes was good but he was never going to be Ali and it was easy for people to hold that against him. Then of course there was the elephant in the room that needs to be mentioned. A press corp dominated by white males hardly made for the most objective opinions.

To make what’s turning into a long story short— the hype was polarizing and endless and by the time fight day occurred the nation was holding it’s collective breath in anticipation of what was about to come.

To say it was anti-climatic would be underselling it. No amount of hype was going to make Cooney a better boxer. When the the bell rang for round one the only thing that was left were 2 boxers and their skills and weaknesses alone in a ring displaying to the world the only reality about the fight that mattered. Holmes dominated the fight, easily taking control in the middle rounds and dropping Cooney by KO in round 13. He would go on to may more years as champion while Cooney fought only sporadically after.

Why am I bringing all this up now on the eve of the first debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump? Easy. To make the point again about not believing the hype and also to remind all of you who are understandably nervous of one important thing. Styles make fights and...

THIS IS THE MOMENT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.

Tonight it is just them. Our two candidates toe-to-toe with nobody to prop them up. Hillary Clinton is vastly more talented than Donald Trump is and the a debate plays to all her strengths. She has the experience on stage from debating skilled challengers one on one. She knows the issues inside and out not because she learned them but because she lived them. There is no way that after 90 minutes people will say that Trump was more competent or had a better temperament to be president. No way. She’s prepared and ready and he’s either going to go belligerent and expose himself as a fool or play it straight and expose himself as intellectually inferior. That’s it. If anything the upside is even greater for Hillary because the public perception of her is based on things that are mostly false and she will have the opportunity tonight to show a different reality. That and the fact that Donald Trumps so-called strengths tend to piss a lot of people off. Remember DONALD TRUMP’S POLL NUMBERS DID NOT RISE AFTER REPUBLICAN DEBATES IN ALMOST ALL INSTANCES THEY FELL.

But what about the moderator you say? It doesn’t matter. In fact it’s probably better if Hillary does the exposing all on her own. Remember the speech in San Diego? Ouch

But what about the media? It doesn’t matter. It’s like the conventions— the media spun like a dervish hesitating to call the trainwreck of the Republican convention what it was but it didn’t matter. People tuned in and what was seen could not become unseen. In fact this is even better because it will be somewhere around 100 minutes before the media can even say a word and by then the cake will be baked.

My prediction- reality hits hard tonight, Hillary wears Donald down with preparation and facts and wins decisively by KO.

So who exactly is it that's bought and paid for again?

Bernie Sanders campaign has been non-stop in their insinuations that Hillary Clinton is bought and paid for. Last night in the debate he was given the opportunity to actually back up his strong talk but couldn’t give a single example of quid pro quo.

But Hillary did.

She spoke about Bernie and his relationship with the NRA. A relationship that is written about in his book and detailed in this article from the Washington Post

www.washingtonpost.com/…

My favorite excerpts for those who don’t want to leave the page…

After Sanders opponent Peter Smith had an epiphany and decided he would no longer do the NRA’s bidding the NRA made him pay..

The NRA made Smith the only incumbent that it actively opposed in 1990. The group eventually spent between $18,000 and $20,000 on advertising and direct mail in Vermont, according to an estimate from the time.

And who who was Smith’s opponent? Bernie Sanders, a man embarking on his 7th try to win a statewide election. But why did the NRA think they had an ally in Sanders?

“Most socialists don’t want to win. Most socialists want to lose, because they can blame it on the system” and justify their decision to remain outside it, Nelson said. “But Bernie wants to win.”

Well hell I can’t blame him for that especially when you’re 0 for 6 but he couldn’t have wanted to win that bad could he? Could he? Please Bernie say it isn’t so….

Sanders won over gun rights groups by promising to oppose one bill they hated — a measure that would establish a waiting period for handgun sales. In Congress, he kept that promise. The dynamic served as an early demonstration that, despite his pure-leftist persona, Sanders was at his core a pragmatic politician, calculating that he couldn’t win in rural Vermont without doing something for gun owners.

Damn. It’s so. But maybe not? Maybe it was just some sort of trick? He took their support but didn’t actually follow through did he?

After he was elected, Sanders stuck to the assurances he had given gun rights groups. In 1991, he voted against a measure that would have required a seven-day waiting period to buy a gun. In 1993, Sanders voted against a broader version of the bill — named for James Brady, the White House press secretary who was shot in the 1981 attempt on President Ronald Reagan’s life — that became law.

That bill set up the national background check system in place today. But Sanders objected because it also included a provision for a temporary waiting period, said Weaver, his longtime aide.

“He had been explicit with people that he would not support a federal mandatory waiting period,” Weaver said. “And he kept his word.”

Since then, Sanders has had a mixed record on guns. He supported an NRA-backed bill to shield gun manufacturers from liability lawsuits. But in 2013, in the aftermath of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, he backed a provision that would have tightened gun laws.

He followed through.

And there you have it. Bernie agreed to vote the way the NRA wanted and in turn it gave him the statewide seat he coveted. I know how I feel about that especially in the context of the campaign he’s currently running but I’ll let you all make up your own minds on the matter.

Bernie supporters kinda sorta off base re: Goldman Sachs and let me show you why

Goldman Sachs is evil. Hillary Clinton is corrupt. Goldman Sachs paid her to do their bidding. Quid pro quo plain and simple. A nice little narrative that fits so nicely to a certain world view… But is it true?

Check this out.

It was there the whole time but nobody ever even took the time to go look for it. As they say facts are stubborn things. Anyway here’s the link and it’s a doozy— follow this link and you will find a list of names of all the people Goldman Sachs will buy and pay for in just this year alone—

http://www.goldmansachs.com/our-thinking/talks-at-gs/index.html?session=all

I’ll give you a moment to check out the horror and then you can come back.

Are you back? Can you believe what you just saw? Are you shuddering?

I mean who knew that John Lewis, Deepak Chopra, Tom Brokaw, Cornell Brooks, Muhammad Yunnis, Yao Ming etc. etc. etc. were all bought and paid for shills?

As a point of disclosure I used to work for a large company and these types of series are common. There main function as far as I can tell was to make us employees feel important. We heard many world views and admittedly learned a lot. The experience made me just ever so slightly not want to leave and go work for a competitor. There was a whole branch of the company that was responsible for these types of events that was separate from the business side. They did things like arrange holiday parties, outings and yes speakers to talk to us. One time Smashmouth performed at our yearly holiday party. I can only wonder the what quid pro quo arrangements were and I bet even a sorry rock band as them made lots of money for the privilege. Maybe even as much as Hillary.

My guess is anybody who worked for a large company can share similar stories. As an aside did you know that you can get the Eagles, Elton John even Beyonce to play your birthday party? It’ll cost you but if you are in demand people will pay. It’s how things are.

So in summation Hillary Clinton, Carlyn Stern and Ava Duvernay all go the opportunity to speak in front of an influential audience and got paid for it. Judge it however you want but judge it within context is all I ask.

Thanks for listening!

had a diary on rec list yesterday and this is what I learned -- w/ an update

UPDATE- Words can not express how uplifting it's been to read the supportive comments here. It was unexpected and it is flattering and it has really empowered me to believe that there might just be an audience out there (however tiny it may be) that wants to hear what I have to say. (even though their are others who see me a naive, uncaring, dissent shutting down, republican light, pragmatic fool :( )

I guess I should start by setting the scene. Yesterday I was mad. I had read things on the front page that quite literally had me furious. This wasn't the first time this had happened and honestly I figured you know what? Life would be so much better and I'd be a hell of a lot more productive if I just deleted that little bookmark icon on the top of my browser and went about my life. I didn't do that though. Instead, I decided to vent and write a diary. What happened after I pressed publish wasn't anything at all what I expected. It was an incredible experience that's not really all that easy to put into words but I'm going to try. Let me tell you more about it after the jump.

Where can sane go now that daily kos has lost its mind?

First off let me say this. I have no interest in debating with those who are comfortable hanging out on Daily Kos as it is now. This diary is only for those who agree with me. People who turn daily to a page they used to enjoy and are now horrified. I believe that's a lot of people who are very much in need right now. Let me tell you what else I believe...

you asked Barack to do this so let him!

This weekend I read a disturbing thing. Al Franken lost his temper with the white house and asked the president of the United States to lead. I looked to this website for reaction and what I heard was a resounding cheer.

Personally, I don't agree with this. I believe-- and of course I may be wrong, that what the majority of America thinks when they hear this is Al Franken = big baby and Democratic Congress = so pathetic that they need their daddy to do all the hard work for them. Neverthess, Mr. Franken and Daily Kos asked Barack Obama to lead and guess what...

Keith O I hope you read this

Keith, I need to be straight up with you. I used to be a big fan. Watched you every day. Defended you. Unfortunately now you sit on the DVR and more often than not I don't tune in. Maybe I watch the beginning "countdown" to see what's on but rarely do I watch the whole show.

Why?

We're no different than they are :-(

Everybody knows. Everybody knows they're right.

How do we know we're right? Because we all listen to the same people. We read the same books and blogs. We know. We've known for a long time.

Unless we don't.

Final 2000 state polls for comparison

I think it could be useful to look at final 2000 state polls and see how the results differed on election day.

Maybe they show which states benefite from good GOTV efforts and/or polling biases particular to each state. Maybe.

If anything they're very interesting and a warning not to get too wrapped up with numbers within the MOE.

Special thanks to CADEM at the Swing State Project for the analysis

Actual results under the fold.

Look at the state trends of the last week

No less than SEVEN states that were for the most part written off long ago are beginning to make serious movements towards Kerry.

Missouri
West Virginia
Arkansas
Colarado
Nevada
Arizona
Virginia

Do I think Kerry will win any of these states? It's too soon to tell but don't tell me this doesn't mean anything. A rising tide lifts all boats. We're gonna win this thing. Maybe big.

Perspective on Zogby found in NM

6 days ago Zogby had Kerry up by 9 in New Mexico and today it's Bush + 5. Does anybody really believe K/E lost 14 points in 6 days?

Zogby gave us good numbers when we were feeing down a while back so I understand why people are attached to him but remember he is just another pollster. We need to look at the big picture if we expect to learn anything. Remember Zogby had K/E down in FLA and Ohio in his last round of polling too. Meanwhile poll after poll has come out since then showing it's tighter than that. Also don't forget these polls all come with a margin of error and don't take into account in their weighting things like a record turnout.

If we GOTV I like our chances.

Mary Chaney: Kerry's BRILLIANT strategy

my apologies if everyone's sick of this but I haven't read this perspective before and I think it's the truth:

When Kerry mentioned Mary Chaney in the debate IT WASN'T A GAFFE. Lets have more respect for JK than that. He knew exactly what he was saying and I'm sure debated it with advisors in his preparation (all the more likely that it was planned was JE bringing it up to)

So the important question is if he knew what he was saying why strategically did he say it?

Here's what I think.
