<title>The background being used for the Frontline Special</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/10/7/790735/-The-background-being-used-for-the-Frontline-Special</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Is a wonderful looking thing. Not the ad per se (though it&#x27;s fine), just the aesthetics of a nice border-wrap around the main content is quite attractive.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>REPOST: Obama/Eisenhower &#x27;08 (Updated)</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/22/568762/-REPOST-Obama-Eisenhower-08-Updated</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;This was something I posted about six months ago, and was promptly shouted down by the majority of the Kossacks, but in light of &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/08/22/susan-eisenhower-leaving-gop-for-good-cites-mccains-rove-style-politics/&#x22;&#x3E;this&#x3C;/a&#x3E; news today, I thought I&#x27;d re-post it:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Obama &#x26; the left&#x27;s romanticism with defeat (REPOST)</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/7/9/549061/-Obama-the-left-s-romanticism-with-defeat-REPOST</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I&#x27;m sick and tired of reading all the lefty blogs freaking out that Obama isn&#x27;t a mindless surrogate for every one of the netroots&#x27; pet policy-positions. He&#x27;s not a living breathing manifestation of the liberal movement, he&#x27;s a shrewd and brilliant progressive politician. Liberal ideological purity has been causing us to eat our own for decades, and I&#x27;m sick of losing. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;If Kos, HuffPost, Think Progress, Crooks &#x26;amp; Liars, Jesus General, MoveOn etc keep this shit up, defeating a 72 year old war-monger guaranteed to continue the policies of the most unpopular president in modern memory will turn into a bizarre curiosity that historians look back at and say &#x3C;em&#x3E;&#x22;Wow...how could Obama have possibly lost?&#x22;&#x3C;/em&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>HBO&#x27;s Recount - Useful Scene</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/19/538675/-HBO-s-Recount-Useful-Scene</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I&#x27;ve tried so many times to explain the complexity of the circumstances surrounding everything that happened in Florida--back in 2000 (and, really, in 2004 as well)--to people like my mother and some of my other musician friends; and, being that they&#x27;re really not political junkies, they usually just stare at me blankly. ;)&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Anyway, this scene from Recount has done the trick. &#x26;nbsp;Leary, despite his foul language (although I find that hillarious), explains the problems with punch-card voting succinctly, yet simply. Plus, the added CGI effects actually showing the processes going on inside the votermatic were genius.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;So with the 2008 election right around the corner, this single clip has done more to inform and energize a lot of the &#x27;casually-political&#x27; people I know to be a little extra diligent before stepping into the voting booth. To ask questions like &#x22;Has all the CHAD been cleaned out of this machine?&#x22; or &#x22;Is there a reason why you only have two machines for this entire district?&#x22; etc.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>To the wingnuts pretending Obama isn&#x27;t really black</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/6/11/534218/-To-the-wingnuts-pretending-Obama-isn-t-really-black</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Apparently, wingnuttia&#x27;s new talking point is something along the lines of &#x22;well, Obama isn&#x27;t &#x3C;em&#x3E;completely&#x3C;/em&#x3E; black, so therefore there&#x27;s nothing historic about his nomination,&#x22;; the point being I guess to reassure racists that their hatred of Obama is not really racist because he&#x27;s not &#x3C;em&#x3E;really&#x3C;/em&#x3E; black...or something. Whatever. Anyway, I realize this is just another part of the steady little drip, drip, drip of insidious innuendos for the feeble minded morons that make up the GOP base, but I feel the need to say this because no lie has ever been corrected from ignoring it.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
