<title>Journal Entry: Wasted time</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2018/10/31/1808915/-Journal-Entry-Wasted-time</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Put here for what? I am a hypocrite.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
Sometimes I think everyone should be doing more for not only this country but the planet as well. People ignore issues that should be spoken about constantly such as Cape town running out of water- they haven&#x2019;t had to turn off their tap water yet because of the extreme measures they took in order to conserve water and they extended their &#x22;day 0&#x22; by a year (they also received rain- they were in a 3 year drought).1 Many major cities in throughout the world are on their way to day 0 as well, though (Mexico city sinks at least 9 inches a year because of how much water they are using from their aquifers.)2 Think about the foolish wastefulness that a constant tap water encourages. Barney told us to turn the water off while we were brushing our teeth, but how much is that really going to do for us almost thirty years later especially when people still don&#x27;t understand why Barney asked us to do that as children.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I regress and I repeat- I am a hypocrite.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
I talk about these things most days, but is that really doing anything? No, I go to work like everyone else.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
Put onto this earth to continuously judge others for their lack of care, while simultaneously pushing aside my own care.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
I get worked up about social issues, and then one sight of you on social media makes my heart race and my mind becomes lost. I fall back into an individualist view point. Like that cartoon character who zones out while sitting on the couch and days and nights pass by before they snap out of it. Time wasted.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
My car gets rejected during inspection: pushes me back into a place where I have to deal with these personal issues. I become focused on what needs to be done in order to continue working, in order to continue to stay mobile. Past thoughts of proletariat revolution re-surges in my mind, and causes me to realize something that sounds good isn&#x27;t always possible. Nit-picky moments like this: my car is broken-&#x26;gt; i need someone to fix it because I can&#x27;t-&#x26;gt; without people working it wouldn&#x27;t be possible to be fixed-&#x26;gt; but I also can barely afford it. I suppose the revolution isn&#x27;t to destroy careers, but rather to enforce the fact that we&#x27;re all intelligent beings of different trades worthy of equality. Could be possible even still, as long as it is done correctly.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
Seeing my nephew dressed up in his first Halloween costume makes me purely happy. Not without guilt, because how can I find joy in something so selfish? But at the same time why do I feel that way? Isn&#x27;t everything about making the world a better place for the younger people, children like my nephew? I am constantly conflicted about what is right and what is wrong. What is too much and what is too little. Do we all feel this way? or maybe just those of us who think too much? Too large scale?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
We are wasting our time. Is it not privileged for entire countries to spend so much time on issues like gender less bathrooms, certain aspects of the feminist movement, combating an individual&#x27;s claims to a certain heritage? I think everyone should be comfortable where they are and women should be treated equally. These issues being a debate still is embarrassing for the human race, and it wastes our time. Let people do what they want with their own bodies, and let them feel comfortable about it. And maybe, instead of arguing about these kinds of things, maybe, lets talk about where so much of our food comes from? Monsanto - a company capable of De-defoliating Vietnam during the war and then poisoning our own soldiers as well (agent orange). A company that has been around since 1901, and isn&#x27;t often enough spoken about.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;
Climate change: is it or isn&#x27;t it? Well, what we do know is that trash is building up all over the planet, and something needs to be done about it instead of arguing whether or not its getting hotter. How about we just decide take care of the planet?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
