<title>Hillary&#x27;s Executive Power Agenda Unprecedented</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/10/8/1429642/-Hillary-s-Executive-Power-Agenda-Unprecedented</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary Clinton is laying out dual agendas, one for working with Congress, and one to go it alone, if necessary. &#x26;nbsp;Democratic office holders and policy makers are heartened by her plans. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Via &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.vox.com/2015/10/8/9480589/hillary-clinton-executive-action&#x22;&#x3E;Vox.com&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;From closing the gun show loophole to tightening the &#x22;Volcker Rule&#x22; to cut down on risky speculative investing, Clinton is crafting plans to go it alone in major policy areas. That&#x27;s important because in an era in which Congress can&#x27;t function &#x2014; particularly when power is closely divided between the parties &#x2014; the executive actions a president takes unilaterally are among the most consequential policies enacted...&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
Former Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sibelius said of the campaign:&#x3C;br /&#x3E;
&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;&#x22;A series of proposals that are aimed at Congress seem a little hollow when you&#x2019;re talking about the current situation,&#x22; she said in an interview. &#x22;She kind of outlines a dual track, which I think in today&#x2019;s climate is certainly something that illustrates it&#x27;s more than just a position paper that would sit on someone&#x2019;s shelf in an office but that it could actually happen.&#x22;&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
Vox&#x27;s Matt Yglesias argues:&#x3C;br /&#x3E;
&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;Committed Democrats and liberal-leaning interest groups are facing a reality in which any policy gains they achieve are going to come through the profligate use of executive authority, and Clinton is almost uniquely suited to deliver the goods,&#x22; he writes. &#x22;More than almost anyone else around, she knows where the levers of power lie, and she is comfortable pulling them, procedural niceties be damned.&#x22;&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
The article demonstrates the uniqueness of Hillary&#x27;s campaign in recognizing the need for a strong executive agenda, an imperative for building on Obama&#x27;s liberal successes.

<title>My Long, Negative Diary About Why I Don&#x27;t Support Sanders</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/9/28/1425518/-My-Long-Negative-Diary-About-Why-I-Don-t-Support-Sanders</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Not really. &#x26;nbsp;Everyday there is a new diary about how awful Hillary Clinton is. &#x26;nbsp;We get it. &#x26;nbsp;She&#x27;s either Dick Cheney or Dan Quayle in a pants suit, depending on the diarist. &#x26;nbsp;She&#x27;s a total a**hole. &#x26;nbsp;You&#x27;ve been heard. &#x26;nbsp;But this isn&#x27;t the forum for Hillary bashing. &#x26;nbsp;In her campaign for President, Hillary has earned a fair number of supporters right here on this blog. &#x26;nbsp;We understand your support for Sanders, and we respect it. &#x26;nbsp;Try showing us the same courtesy.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary Stands Alone As Presidential</title>

<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;The title of this article is a bit misleading, &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-09-23/americans-see-hillary-clinton-jeb-bush-as-presidential-material-bloomberg-poll-finds&#x22;&#x3E;Americans View Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, as Presidential Material&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;In a new Bloomberg poll by the Selzer group, Hillary actually earns a full 7 points more than Jeb Bush on the question of presidential. &#x26;nbsp;47% see her as presidential, while only 40% say the same for Jeb Bush. &#x26;nbsp;52% say they don&#x27;t see Clinton this way, while 60% say the same for Sanders. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;br /&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Elizabeth Warren Also Had Trust Issues</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/9/26/1425139/-Elizabeth-Warren-Also-Had-Trust-Issues</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;It&#x27;s a girl thing. The phenomena is likely related to the &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/09/24/1424497/-Gender-Bias-and-the-Hillary-Campaign&#x22;&#x3E;gender bias&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;Scott Brown hammered Elizabeth Warren over a ridiculous claim that she lied about her heritage and used that lie to get ahead. &#x26;nbsp;These accusations helped Brown stay viable. &#x26;nbsp;The press kept the embers lit, dogging Warren with questions about her ethnicity through out the campaign. &#x26;nbsp;It was effective, though of course Warren ultimately won. &#x26;nbsp;The questions of Hillary&#x27;s server and email come out of the eigth congressional committee on Bengahzi. &#x26;nbsp;An investigation that has stretched out over &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/09/09/1419710/-Benghazi-Comm-489-Days&#x22;&#x3E;500 days&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, on pace to become the longest investigation in Congressional history. &#x26;nbsp;A committee that has the potential to make Republican Representative Gowdy a &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.politico.com/story/2015/03/trey-gowdy-fundraiser-benghazi-115891&#x22;&#x3E;fundraising star&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;Hillary Clinton has made ten of thousands of her email available to the public. &#x26;nbsp;They reveal a competent public servant.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Gender Bias and the Hillary Campaign</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/9/24/1424497/-Gender-Bias-and-the-Hillary-Campaign</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;In today&#x27;s Newyorker, Allyson Hobbs asks, &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/why-arent-we-inspired-by-hillary-clinton&#x22;&#x3E;why aren&#x27;t we inspired by Hillary Clinton?&#x3C;/a&#x3E; &#x26;nbsp;She takes aim at the main culprit, gender bias:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;But another obvious explanation is the persistent problem of gender bias in American culture. Perhaps the sexism&#x2014;in both overtly hostile and less visible but still insidious ways&#x2014;has helped stoke the fires of animosity towards Clinton while, at the same time, creating an almost impossible standard for her. Unlike her male opponents, Clinton has to be far more careful and measured in what she says and does. To be free from a strict choreography of words and actions is a form of male privilege that Hillary Clinton cannot access.&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;

<title>Benghazi Comm.: 489 Days</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/9/9/1419710/-Benghazi-Comm-489-Days</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;In case it wasn&#x27;t clear, the eigth Benghazi committee, lead by Republican Rep. Gowdy, has been at it 489 days at a cost of over $4 million taxpayer dollars. &#x26;nbsp;If the committee works after Jan. 2016, the investigation will have lasted longer than Watergate, or any other congressional investigation in history &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/gops-benghazi-panel-springs-yet-another-leak&#x22;&#x3E;LINK&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;If you are unaware that Gowdy is performing a political fishing expedition with the help of a complicit press, I urge to read up. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/09/07/1419223/-The-Return-of-McCarthyism&#x22;&#x3E;LINK&#x3C;/a&#x3E; &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://mediamatters.org/research/2015/09/08/new-york-times-washington-bureau-shake-up-follo/205412&#x22;&#x3E;LINK&#x3C;/a&#x3E; &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/09/04/opinion/disband-the-benghazi-committee.html?action=click&#x26;amp;pgtype=Homepage&#x26;amp;module=opinion-c-col-left-region%C2%AEion=opinion-c-col-left-region&#x26;amp;WT.nav=opinion-c-col-left-region&#x26;amp;_r=1&#x26;amp;referrer=&#x22;&#x3E;LINK&#x3C;/a&#x3E; &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/how-gowdy-is-reshaping-the-2016-race/article/2571290&#x22;&#x3E;LINK&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Obama Needs To Make It Clear</title>

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Now that the Republican plan B has imploded, Obama needs to make it clear: No cuts to social security, including chained CPI. &#x26;nbsp;No cuts to Medicaid. &#x26;nbsp;No cuts to Medicare. &#x26;nbsp;Tax cuts for income over 250k must be allowed to expire. &#x26;nbsp;And, he will take that stand right over the cliff.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Cutting The Middle Man Out Of Health Care...For The Rich</title>

<title>Public Option Advocacy Strategy Needs Rethinking</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/21/784937/-Public-Option-Advocacy-Strategy-Needs-Rethinking</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;From advocacy groups like HCAN and MoveOn.org to prominent blog sites like Daily Kos and Fire Dog Lake, single payer is the policy which must not be named. &#x26;nbsp;There seems to have been a strategic decision by several advocacy groups and progressive bloggers not to have a policy discussion or front page reporting relevant to Medicare for All once the policy was proclaimed &#x22;off the table&#x22; by the Democratic leadership and the President. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Investors Betting On Democrats To Screw Us</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/11/780780/-Investors-Betting-On-Democrats-To-Screw-Us</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I pray the progressives wake up soon and come out of their collective slumber before we help the Democrats pass a health insurance bail out.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;The reforms championed two years ago, that rested largely on providing Americans with a Medicare-like plan, open to all takers, has morphed into Romney Care. &#x26;nbsp;While the centerpiece progressives envisioned on health care reform rested largely on federal intervention via program, the Democrats have cleary gone the less contentious route of a federal roll via regulation. &#x26;nbsp;The idea seems to be create a federal role, and hopefully tighten regulations later down the road, which is laughable. &#x26;nbsp;If you read just &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://cboblog.cbo.gov/?p=352&#x22;&#x3E;this short piece&#x3C;/a&#x3E; about the so-called &#x22;public option&#x22; from the CBO you can see this is not what progressives rallied around. &#x26;nbsp;Not. Even. Close. &#x26;nbsp;But you don&#x27;t have to take my word for it, just listen to the investors.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Circa1999: Bill Clinton Again Proposes &#x22;Radical&#x22;, &#x22;Disruptive&#x22; Health Reform</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/11/780505/-Circa1999-Bill-Clinton-Again-Proposes-Radical-Disruptive-Health-Reform</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20090910_a_speech_even_insurance_companies_could_love/&#x22;&#x3E;In Obama&#x27;s recent speech&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, he equated the movement to extend Medicare to all Americans with the Canadian single-payer.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;There are those on the left who believe that the only way to fix the system is through a single-payer system like Canada&#x26;rsquo;s where we would severely restrict the private insurance market and have the government provide coverage for everyone.&#x22; ...such a plan &#x22;would represent &#x3C;strong&#x3E;a radical shift &#x3C;/strong&#x3E;that would &#x3C;strong&#x3E;disrupt the health care most people currently have&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;.
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;He also reminded his &#x22;progressive friends&#x22; what apparently the real driving force behind health reform has been about all these years:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x22;To my progressive friends, I would remind you that for decades the &#x3C;strong&#x3E;driving force behind reform has been to end insurance company abuses &#x3C;/strong&#x3E;and &#x3C;strong&#x3E;make coverage affordable to those without it&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;,&#x22;
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Forgive me, but I&#x27;m pretty sure the driving force for the Democratic base has been a universal health care system, and among the most ardent supporters of health care reform on the Left, a government administered universal health reform system. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>How The Democrats Keep Blowing It On Health Care</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/9/779369/-How-The-Democrats-Keep-Blowing-It-On-Health-Care</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;The Democrats may pass a bill, and it may contain a watered down public option, but the Democrats have mostly blown it on health care reform. &#x26;nbsp;Were it not for the massive numbers of the uninsured, the large majorities in Congress, the swelling health care costs, and the distaste Democrats have on the Hill for failing to pass health care reform again, as they did in the 1990&#x27;s, the chances of passing a bill at this point would be nil. &#x26;nbsp;When Bill Clinton&#x27;s health reform proposal dipped to just 47% approval, Democrats on the Hill &#x26;nbsp;called it DOA, so with Obama&#x27;s proposal at just &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=112687935&#x22;&#x3E;37%&#x3C;/a&#x3E; demonstrates the other factors at play. &#x26;nbsp;Democrats know, politically, they have to do something on health care, or risk looking like complete incompetents. &#x26;nbsp;Here&#x27;s where the Democrats went wrong...&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Rep. Weiner Pushing Single Payer Until the Last Dog Dies</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/8/778600/-Rep-Weiner-Pushing-Single-Payer-Until-the-Last-Dog-Dies</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;If you followed the health care debate closely, you know Representative Anthony Weiner has procured a floor vote to replace HR 3200 with Medicare for All. &#x26;nbsp;People will say it is a symbolic vote, and mostly they are right. &#x26;nbsp;A large segment of the activists Left and the Progressives in Congress abandoned single payer this year when it was declared off the metaphoric table by the Democratic leadership. &#x26;nbsp;Without significant pressure from left-leaning activists, Medicare for All, or a single payer system, has been willfully overlooked by our elected leaders, and the Democratic leadership has managed to keep it off limits... &#x26;nbsp;Save Anthony Weiner. &#x26;nbsp;Anthony Weiner has barnstormed townhalls and the talk show circuit presenting a compelling, cogent argument for improving and expanding Medicare to all Americans. &#x26;nbsp;On the eve of the President&#x27;s address to Congress, Weiner offers the President and his Party a path toward political and policy success, that should be heeded and applauded by all Democrats.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>The Public Option Was Not A Compromise For Single Payer...</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/7/778338/-The-Public-Option-Was-Not-A-Compromise-For-Single-Payer</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;unless you were compromising with yourself. &#x26;nbsp;I&#x27;m sick of hearing the &#x22;public option was the compromise&#x22;. &#x26;nbsp;No, it wasn&#x27;t. &#x26;nbsp;You can&#x27;t compromise on something when it&#x27;s the only policy for which you have advocated. &#x26;nbsp; The public option, not single payer, is the demand. &#x26;nbsp;A compromised public option is likely to be the compromise. &#x26;nbsp;Improved and Enhanced Medicare for All, or single payer, was never on the table. &#x26;nbsp;It was never part of the negotiations, thus it was never a policy up for compromise.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>AFL-CIO Members: Pro-Public option or Pro-Single Payer? UPDATE</title>

<title>SHAME to All So-Called Progessives Who Let Medicare for All Slip Off the Table</title>

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Medicare for All needs to be on the table. &#x26;nbsp;Medicare For All should have always been on the table. &#x26;nbsp;When so-called progressives saw Medicare for All being barred from the table they should have raised holy hell! &#x26;nbsp;Why? &#x26;nbsp;Because Americans have no idea how much they are being looted by our for-profit health finance system. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Shuster&#x27;s Baseless Attack on Chelsea</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/7/452441/-Shuster-s-Baseless-Attack-on-Chelsea</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Is David Shuster on drugs? &#x26;nbsp;What on earth would cause him to go after, of all people, Chelsea Clinton? &#x26;nbsp;Tonight he pondered whether or not the young woman was being &#x22;pimped&#x22; by her mother. &#x26;nbsp;How ridiculous. &#x26;nbsp;Does anyone remember such a suggestion being made when George Bush&#x27;s nephew campaigned for him? &#x26;nbsp;I sure don&#x27;t.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;This week Bill Moyers reports what books the presidential candidates say they would bring with them to the White House. &#x26;nbsp;I love Hillary&#x27;s answer, the Constitution. &#x26;nbsp;Not only is it a thoughtful response, but I get the sense she means it.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/22/441509/-Hillary-s-Commitment-to-Women-s-Rights</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Today Hillary proposed her women&#x27;s reproductive rights agenda, timed with the anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade. &#x26;nbsp;The agenda includes prevention measures, ensuring health insurers provide the same level of coverage for contraception as they do other perscriptions, ensuring women who survive assualt have access to emergency contreception, and greater access to reproductive health care services overseas. &#x26;nbsp;The agenda includes two important commitments, which I will highlight below the fold.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary, Maya&#x27;s Poem and the NH Primary</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/1/20/439855/-Hillary-Maya-s-Poem-and-the-NH-Primary</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;The Observer Unlimited reports &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.mayaangelou.com/&#x22;&#x3E;Maya Angelou&#x3C;/a&#x3E; has recently penned a &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,2243668,00.html&#x22;&#x3E;poem&#x3C;/a&#x3E; for Hillary Clinton. &#x26;nbsp;For those of you who do not know, Maya Angelou is a renowned poetess and author of National Book Award winner, autobiographical novel, &#x3C;em&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Know_Why_the_Caged_Bird_Sings&#x22;&#x3E;I know why the caged bird sings&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/em&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;The poem borrows from an earlier work of Ms. Angelou, her iconic classic, &#x3C;em&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.kalimunro.com/still_I_rise.html&#x22;&#x3E;Still I Rise&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/em&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;Hillary can take great honor in Maya&#x27;s use of the imagery of that poem as it is an important work, and indicative of her great love for Hillary that she made her &#x22;family&#x22; in her heart that way. &#x26;nbsp;Maya&#x27;s poem really struck a chord with me after my experience volunteering for Hillary in Southern NH, and I would guess it was written in that time period. &#x26;nbsp;I was campaigning for Hillary from hours before she lost Iowa until hours before she won NH. &#x26;nbsp;My story and the poem below the fold.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary: A President with &#x22;Backbone&#x22;</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/28/427095/-Hillary-A-President-with-Backbone</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Yesterday, &#x26;nbsp;Hillary recieved the endorsement of &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=4936&#x22;&#x3E;U.S. Rep. Lynn Woolsey&#x3C;/a&#x3E; of California&#x26;rsquo;s sixth Congressional District. The Congresswoman, a staunch opponent of the Iraq war, &#x22;cited Senator Clinton&#x26;rsquo;s commitment to ending the war in Iraq as the top reason for her backing.&#x22; &#x26;nbsp;Hillary &#x26;nbsp;also recieved another NH newspaper endorsement. &#x26;nbsp;This one from the &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.hillaryclinton.com/blog/view/?id=19295#view_comments&#x22;&#x3E;Cabinet Press&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, &#x22;which includes four weekly newspapers with a circulation of 31,000 in nine towns across southern New Hampshire.&#x22; Cabinet Press(the Milford Cabinet, Bedford Journal, Hollis Brookline Journal, and Merrimack Journal) said of Hillary, &#x3C;strong&#x3E;&#x22;[she] is a tough, smart, courageous, compassionate and sometimes blunt senator who will be a good president in a time that requires the kind of backbone she possesses.&#x22; &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/20/425006/-It-s-the-Gender-Stupid-The-only-thing-holding-Hillary-back</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Less than two weeks out from the first primary contest, the Iowa caucuses, we can surmise neither Edwards nor Obama, nor any other candidate, has managed to overtake Hillary&#x27;s support within the Party. &#x26;nbsp;In other words, no one is compelling enough as a candidate to attract as much as, or more support than Hillary. &#x26;nbsp;The only chance for Barack Obama or John Edwards, is that one or the other is able to fish enough not-Hillary voters to beat her. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Holiday Greetings From Hillary</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/19/424499/-Holiday-Greetings-From-Hillary</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary came out with a new holiday ad today. &#x26;nbsp;The ad doesn&#x27;t go all religious, although an instrumental version of Carol of the Bells plays softly in the background. &#x26;nbsp;It&#x27;s a fun ad that any holiday wrapper can relate to (oh, there it is.). &#x26;nbsp;But, typical of Hillary, it&#x27;s also substantive. &#x26;nbsp;Hillary lays out her agenda....on present tags! &#x26;nbsp;Adorable.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary Clinton Facing Undiscussed Sexism</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/2/416967/-Hillary-Clinton-Facing-Undiscussed-Sexism</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;There&#x27;s been alot of debate about comments aimed at Hillary sprinkling the political blogs, and whether some of them are routed in sexism. &#x26;nbsp;In truth, I think some are, some arn&#x27;t. It&#x27;s true, the Clinton&#x27;s have always been somewhat polarizing. &#x26;nbsp;I think one reason for that, is the right wing&#x27;s contempt for one of few extremely successful Democrat&#x27;s in the last several decades. &#x26;nbsp;But, with Hillary, there is more to it than that. &#x26;nbsp;Remember, Pat Buchanon once called her a &#x22;radical feminist&#x22;. Still, as we&#x27;ve seen here in some instances, the sexism is not necessarily only coming from Right or Left, &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.newhouse.com/hillary-hatred-finds-its-misogynistic-voice.html&#x22;&#x3E;it&#x27;s just coming&#x3C;/a&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/27/415166/-Hillary-and-the-Granny-Vote</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Through out the campaign season, Hillary has reached out to a natural constituency, older women voters. &#x26;nbsp;She&#x27;s vowed to strengthen and protect social security, &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/9/22/21913/7321&#x22;&#x3E;improve health care&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, and crack down on con artists who prey on older americans. &#x26;nbsp;In Iowa, anecdotally atleast, it seems Hillary&#x27;s outreach is working. &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Iowan Paints Head for Hillary</title>

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;News from the Trail in Iowa:
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071124/NEWS/71124009/1001&#x22;&#x3E;According to the Desmoines Register&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, Hillary recieved a nice show of support in Sioux City, Iowa today, where she unveiled &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/24/161512/88&#x22;&#x3E;her plan to help children and families affected by autism&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. Iowan Mary Worden-Fiedler, who is undergoing chemotherapy, showed her support for Hillary quite literally, painting her head to replicate Hillary&#x27;s logo with the help of friend and artist, Brenda Schoenherr-Thelen. &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp; &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary Favored by Small Business Leaders</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/23/414005/-Hillary-Favored-by-Small-Business-Leaders</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;According to Bloomberg News, Hillary Clinton is the favorite among small business leaders who normally lean Republican. &#x26;nbsp;This resonates with me as an MBA and a small business owner(actually, it&#x27;s my husband&#x27;s business, which I am in the process of stepping away from, but I helped him develop it, and plan to open my own business in the near future). &#x26;nbsp;Hillary has crafted plans that work for small business, particularly her health plan, which allows business owners access to affordable health care for themselves and their employees, while also exempting the truly small business from financing health care for their employees. &#x26;nbsp;The study also finds a majority of small business owners are in support of regulated health care.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Barney Frank is my Congressman (representing Massachusetts&#x27;s fourth district) and a personal hero. &#x26;nbsp;Following the &#x27;06 elections, Frank became Chair of the House Financial Services Committee for the US House of Representatives. <title>Uribe Blasts Hillary for Standing up for Workers</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/11/409150/-Uribe-Blasts-Hillary-for-Standing-up-for-Workers</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;As you&#x27;ve no doubt heard, Hillary supports the Peru trade deal. &#x26;nbsp;What you might not have heard is she opposes three other pending deals. Here&#x27;s what she has to say about these pending agreements:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;table width=&#x22;92%&#x22; align=&#x22;center&#x22; style=&#x22;background-color:rgb(235,255,245);&#x22; cellpadding=&#x22;5%&#x22;&#x3E;&#x3C;tr&#x3E;&#x3C;td&#x3E;I will oppose the pending trade agreements with South Korea, &#x3C;strong&#x3E;Colombia&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;, and Panama. The South Korean agreement does not create a level playing field for American carmakers. &#x3C;strong&#x3E;I am very concerned about the history of violence against trade unionists in Colombia.&#x3C;/strong&#x3E; And as long as the head of Panama&#x27;s National Assembly is a fugitive from justice in America, I cannot support that agreement. Accordingly, I will oppose the trade agreements with these countries.&#x3C;/td&#x3E;&#x3C;/tr&#x3E;&#x3C;/table&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/11/5/402010/-Hillary-s-Very-Good-Energy-Plan</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Today, Hillary Clinton unveiled her energy plan, which she calls, &#x22;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.hillaryclinton.com/files/pdf/poweringamericasfuture.pdf&#x22;&#x3E;Powering America&#x27;s Future&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x22;. &#x26;nbsp;The plan is getting good early reviews, offers a number of bold goodies, encapsulates the best of her competitor&#x27;s proposals, and is well framed for public support. &#x26;nbsp;This is an energy policy progressive&#x27;s can enthusiastically support. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;br /&#x3E;This is the second part of my multi-part series where I review Hillary Clinton&#x27;s performance at the October 18th Kaiser Health Care forum. &#x26;nbsp;In the first part of this series, I talked about Clinton&#x27;s &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/10/21/161255/78&#x22;&#x3E;committment to a public option&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;In this section, I will talk about Clinton&#x27;s political seasoning as it relates to her health plan, and why I think this makes her uniquely prepared to pass Universal Health Coverage as our next President.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>HRC: The Health Care President (Part I)</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/10/21/400775/-HRC-The-Health-Care-President-Part-I</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;em&#x3E;Cross Posted on MyDD&#x3C;/em&#x3E;
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;There has been much debate on the blogs as to Hillary Clinton and her true intentions on health care. &#x26;nbsp;I think Hillary Clinton has been perfectly straight forward about her intentions to extend affordable, quality health coverage to all Americans. &#x26;nbsp;On October 18th, Hillary Clinton participated in a presidential forum at Kaiser. &#x26;nbsp;I recommend everyone who regards health care as an important issue in the next election, watch this forum. &#x26;nbsp;Kaiser has already hosted a similar forum with John Edwards, and will produce a number of other forums with most of the other presidential candidates. &#x26;nbsp;I found Hillary&#x26;rsquo;s performance at the forum extremely compelling. &#x26;nbsp;I will talk in future posts about a number of issues Hillary Clinton articulates at the forum, as well as some traits she displays, which I believe demonstrate her unique preparedness to pass Universal Health Coverage as our next President. &#x26;nbsp;Today I will discuss one component of her plan, the public option portion, which I have discussed before.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;In this posting, I will offer a quick overview of Hillary&#x27;s Work-Family Agenda. &#x26;nbsp;I will then look at some of Hillary&#x27;s other proposals and suggest how these plans, taken together, offer a much needed update to how we approach work, family and health in this country.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary is a Woman, and It Matters</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/10/14/397942/-Hillary-is-a-Woman-and-It-Matters</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Today we&#x27;ve been treated to two diaries calling into question how Hillary&#x27;s gender is effecting the race. &#x26;nbsp;One ponders if Hillary&#x27;s success thus far is due to her &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/10/14/131036/80&#x22;&#x3E;&#x22;NOT acting like a woman&#x22;&#x3C;/a&#x3E; the other suggests Hillary may alienate women by &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/10/14/133410/14&#x22;&#x3E;too blatant an appeal&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. &#x26;nbsp;I think Hillary&#x27;s gender is somewhat a double edged sword in this campaign, helping her with women, hurting her with men. &#x26;nbsp;It seems to me she has recieved so much support from women that she has decided not to down play the historic significance of her potential presidency despite some backlash from male voters. &#x26;nbsp;For me, personally, Hillary&#x27;s gender is a factor. &#x26;nbsp;More below the fold...&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I&#x27;ll admit, I was spooked by the passage of Kyl-Lieberman amendment, mostly because I don&#x27;t trust Lieberman. &#x26;nbsp;But, at this point, I don&#x27;t see passage of this amendment as in an open invitation by Congress for Bush to wage war on Iran no matter how much Lieberman wishes it were so. &#x26;nbsp;And, I&#x27;d just like to know, can anyone tell me why, if this is a move toward war with Iran, did Dick Durbin vote for it? &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary hits new high on dailykos.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/9/24/389757/-Hillary-hits-new-high-on-dailykos</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary hit a new high in the September dailykos.com monthly tracking poll, garnering 11% in the dailykos poll this month, a new watermark for the candidate stuck in the second tier among the dailykos community. &#x26;nbsp;According to dailkos.com pollster Kos, Hillary Clinton has broken double digits in the monthly poll for the first time since July, 2005 when she hit 10%. &#x26;nbsp;She&#x26;rsquo;s up 3 points since Augusts&#x26;rsquo; rather disappointing showing of 8%. &#x26;nbsp;Hillary seems to have pulled away from the other second tier candidates. &#x26;nbsp;She&#x26;rsquo;s a full 4 points ahead of her nearest competitor, Chris Dodd(who surged in the latest poll, gaining a full 5 points from &#x26;nbsp;2% in the August poll, an all time high for him at the time). &#x26;nbsp;Last month she was neck and neck with Kucinich and Richardson. &#x26;nbsp; She now occupies the second tier alone.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary Seen as Tough and Smart</title>

Indeed, a full 53% of Democrats associated &#x22;smart&#x22; with Hillary, Obama was the second most associated with &#x22;smart&#x22; at 23%. By association with &#x22;tough&#x22;, Hillary was chosen by a whopping 67% of Democratic voters, Obama was the second most associated with &#x22;tough&#x22; by a paltry 14%.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Come on, people. A Medicare buy-in Option?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/9/19/387533/-Come-on-people-A-Medicare-buy-in-Option</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;cross-posted on mydd&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary Clinton gets it. &#x26;nbsp;Oddly, so many of us here don&#x27;t. &#x26;nbsp;It&#x27;s the Medicare-like buy-in option. &#x26;nbsp;Many people here were certain Hillary Clinton wouldn&#x27;t offer them the Medicare buy-in option, and yet, I was sure she had said she would. &#x26;nbsp;It&#x27;s in the literture: &#x22;If you have a plan you like, you keep it. If you want to change plans or aren&#x27;t currently covered, you can choose from dozens of the same plans available to members of Congress, &#x3C;strong&#x3E;or you can opt into a public plan option like Medicare&#x3C;/strong&#x3E;. And working families will get tax credits to help pay their premiums.&#x22; &#x26;nbsp;Still, there was a definite sense of uncertainty, so just to be sure I emailed Ann Lewis and asked her, can everyone buy in to the public plan?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hillary is set to unveil the third phase of her health care plan on Monday at a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. This phase deals with accessibility. Hillary had this to say about the type of headline she hopes her plan will evoke, &#x22;Obviously, I hope the headline is that, you know, Hillary is back, and we&#x27;re going to get it done.&#x22; According to Bloomberg.com, Hillary&#x27;s plan &#x22;will probably stake out the middle ground, appearing bolder than Senator Obama of Illinois and more pragmatic than former Senator Edwards of North Carolina.&#x22; &#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Hillary Seeks Environmental Justice</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/9/5/380780/-Hillary-Seeks-Environmental-Justice</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;On July 25th 2007, Hillary Clinton presided over the first-ever senate hearing devoted to environmental justice where she proclaimed &#x22;Today, millions live in fear that the air in their neighborhoods is unsafe to breathe, the water unfit to drink, their home an unhealthy place to raise their children. Far too many Americans with lower incomes or from communities of color are confronted with higher levels of pollution, putting their children and families at risk. It&#x26;rsquo;s separate, it&#x26;rsquo;s unequal, and it&#x26;rsquo;s wrong. &#x26;nbsp;We must pressure the Bush Administration and do all we can to once again make fighting this inequity a priority for our nation.&#x22; &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
