<title>Eugene, I got a problem...</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/3/30/852430/-Eugene-I-got-a-problem</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;There&#x27;s a habit some progressives and liberals have fallen into that bugs me. And you can find some of that habit in a recent &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/29/AR2010032901891.html&#x22;&#x3E;Eugene Robinson column&#x3C;/a&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Now, I&#x27;m not trying to &#x22;pick on&#x22; Mister Robinson (which is a funny idea, I&#x27;m a minor, barely noticed, newish blogger on DKos, like he&#x27;s even heard of me?). I&#x27;m talking about something I&#x27;ve been seeing in many places that shows up a bit in the cited column.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>I&#x27;m going to make a prediction...</title>

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Good ol&#x27; &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.redstate.com/neil_stevens/2010/03/24/think-progress-tries-originalism-fails/&#x22;&#x3E;Redstate&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, always grappling with that Constitution thing and tying themselves into amusing balloon animal shapes.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I said what I&#x27;m going to say some months back when the &#x22;mandate&#x22; flap came up. I&#x27;m going to say it again as a public prediction since the &#x3C;em&#x3E;last&#x3C;/em&#x3E; time I was dead on right, I hadn&#x27;t told anybody but a friend or two.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Don&#x27;t you love how these &#x22;defenders of the Constitution&#x22; don&#x27;t seem to have ever read the document? Or, for that matter, much of anything?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>The shrieks of the damned...</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/6/25/746709/-The-shrieks-of-the-damned</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Years ago, there was this &#x22;recording&#x22; that floated about the Intertubulars that was claimed to be an actual recording of hell itself. The story of how the recording came about varied, of course, and often wildly. But the basics were that somebody in some country other than our own--for whatever value of &#x22;our&#x22; and &#x22;own&#x22; you may have--was digging to some great depth and for some reason or other sent a microphone down into the depths.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Anyway, you were supposed to be shaken and terrified and chilled to your very soul. At least Art Bell was. I, on the other hand, about a third of the way into the wailing and moaning and screaming began to giggle.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Why? Well, because I had heard all this before...&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;The photos even Obama is fighting to keep hidden are leaking. The Sidney Morning Herald has sixty. Of those, they&#x27;ve published about fifteen.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>I&#x27;ve fallen and I can&#x27;t get up...</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/6/6/739464/-I-ve-fallen-and-I-can-t-get-up</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Drowning in BLS and Census data, I&#x27;m only surfacing enough to post a short chapter in the saga of employment verses our population (estimated &#x22;intercensual&#x22; I believe the word is). &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/6/5/739233/-Wanna-see-something-that-bugs-me&#x22;&#x3E;Previously&#x3C;/a&#x3E; (now Previously 2.0 as I cleaned it up... erm, sort of), I was playing with the Employment to Population Ratio and getting a headache trying to wrap my aging synapses around that great big plummet that started in 2007. Today, it&#x27;s trying to pull some data out by age. But just some. And just barely.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Clearly, this fumbling with numbers of mine is waste of your time that if you&#x27;re reading, you should stop immediately and go see &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://www.dailykos.com/user/Bill%20in%20Portland%20Maine&#x22;&#x3E;Bill in Portland Maine&#x3C;/a&#x3E; who&#x27;s a much more interesting writer. But if you&#x27;re still here, remember, &#x3C;em&#x3E;I warned you&#x3C;/em&#x3E;.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Wanna see something that bugs me?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/6/5/739233/-Wanna-see-something-that-bugs-me</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I don&#x27;t like unemployment data reporting. There&#x27;s been too much fiddling with the numbers over the years. And while the data is available and easily accessible, the &#x22;librul media&#x22; rarely bothers to question the &#x22;official numbers&#x22;. Now, as a good friend of mine used to say, &#x22;Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to incompetence&#x22; and given &#x3C;em&#x3E;math is hard&#x3C;/em&#x3E; (whine), there may be no more agenda behind this than simple laziness.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Either way, this bugs me. It bugs me because over time, as I&#x27;ve dipped into the BLS numbers to make some point or other, a vague and uneasy feeling formed that &#x3C;em&#x3E;Something Bad&#x3C;/em&#x3E; was lurking in the shadows.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
