<title>Daily KOS Cincinnati Meeting</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/3/4/1640220/-Daily-KOS-Cincinnati-Meeting</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;A bunch of folks who read DAILY&#xA0;KOS got together today in Cincinnati to discuss how to get our messages to our elected officials. &#xA0; The meeting was led by Rachel Colyer, Senior Campaign Director of DAILY KOS. &#xA0;David Akadjian&#xA0;spoke as well. &#xA0;It was wonderful to gather with a bunch of likeminded people. &#xA0;We did meet&#xA0;in the basement of an old pub in Over-the-Rhein, so it felt a bit like we were the resistance plotting against Hitler. &#xA0;Hell, maybe that&#x2019;s exactly what we were doing.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>I Used to Think Trump was Entertaining</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/3/4/1640141/-I-Used-to-Think-Trump-was-Entertaining</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Over the years I found myself drawn to Donald Trump&#x2019;s big personality. &#xA0;I&#x2019;ll admit that I found him entertaining on his Howard Stern appearances. &#xA0;I even watched the Celebrity Apprentice for a couple of seasons. &#xA0;His outlandish behavior always seemed to be an act. &#xA0; I thought he was just a shameless self promoter interested in garnering attention for his brand.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;When he decided to run for President, my wife posed the idea that he was doing it as a lark to derail the Republican ticket and help out Hillary. &#xA0;The man had ties to the Democratic Party in the past, specifically to the Clintons. &#xA0;Apparently, Trump&#x2019;s persona was not an act. &#xA0;The outrageous statements and thin skinned demeanor are actually Donald Trump.&#xA0;When his campaign kept its momentum after his endless stream of horrific statements: &#xA0;building the wall, jailing women for having abortions, disputing John McCain being a war hero, grabbing women by their (you know), I began to fear the man and his movement.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I never believed he would really win the election, but having seen what the American electorate was capable of in 2004, I was still worried. &#xA0;The night of the election was one of the worst nights of my life, and I&#x2019;ve had some bad ones. &#xA0;My initial reaction was fear, but I thought for some reason, that Trump would lessen his hateful divisive rhetoric and swing back to the middle.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Unfortunately, that has not been the case. &#xA0;Ronald Dump, as my children like to call him, has been everything his campaign suggested. &#xA0;His Twitter rants, his name calling, his lack of caring about the rest rest of the world have all continued. &#xA0;We are now left with a possible Putin-like despot in the making. &#xA0;While he continues to lie and hurt and spew his insane agendas, his party&#x2019;s spineless leaders &#xA0;(Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, I&#x2019;m referring to you) turn a blind eye and cower without standing up to the bully.&#xA0;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I&#x2019;ve learned something from this. &#xA0;I will never view an&#xA0;election as entertainment. This is serious business, from the first day of the campaign. &#xA0;My god, what have they done?&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
