<title>Hate mail - Southern style </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/5/16/976557/-Hate-mail-Southern-style</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;About a month ago I received the following email. &#x26;nbsp;I had forwarded an email to our Democratic supporters an action alert concerning the Voter ID bill moving through the state legislature in South Carolina. &#x26;nbsp;The action alert from the SC League of Women Voters was encouraging people to call their State Legislator to vote No to the bill. &#x26;nbsp;Apparently that email was forwarded to a very disturbed individual. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>(Update w/quote) Coburn &#x22;misleads&#x22; on citizen who stopped gunman in Colorado Springs </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/1/16/936706/--Update-w-quote-Coburn-misleads-on-citizen-who-stopped-gunman-in-Colorado-Springs</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I&#x27;ve now heard it twice, the latest just a few minutes ago on MTP. &#x26;nbsp;Senator Coburn tells the story of a citizen who used their gun to stop a gunman at a Colorado Springs Church. &#x26;nbsp;I can&#x27;t recall who told the story first, but I did wonder about the story at the time. When I heard it repeated again, I just knew there had been more to the story than what they were spouting. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>SC republican applauds HCR bill in writing to constitutent </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/4/8/854602/-SC-republican-applauds-HCR-bill-in-writing-to-constitutent</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I can&#x27;t believe South Carolina&#x27;s U.S. House of Representative Gresham Barrett sent a letter to a local constituent, writing of the positive aspects of H.R. 3590, Patient Protection &#x26;amp; Affordable Care Act. &#x26;nbsp;I&#x27;ve seen it with my own eyes! After his introductory remark of &#x22;thank you for contacting me&#x22;, the letter continues with -
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;As you know, one of the most pressing problems in health care is the large number of uninsured and underinsured Americans, 700,000 of which are located in South Carolina. I understand that you support health care reform legislation that will provide insurance coverage to all Americans.
&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;/blockquote&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E; I should note that Gresham Barrett is currently running for South Carolina Governor. &#x26;nbsp;His House seat is open, with republican and Democratic primaries in June. &#x26;nbsp;The letter follows with a long paragraph giving factual information about the health care reform bill. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Rude republicans at Rep. Wilson rally </title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/9/30/787680/-Rude-republicans-at-Rep-Wilson-rally</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;This past Saturday, Representative Joe &#x22;you lie&#x22; Wilson was in Aiken, SC at the invitation of the Aiken County Republican Party. &#x26;nbsp;A few days before the &#x22;event&#x22; our local newspaper had a small article about a woman who was planning a protest against Wilson. &#x26;nbsp;I knew then that I just had to go see for myself what would happen. &#x26;nbsp;I had friends from Illinois staying with us for the weekend. &#x26;nbsp;As retired AFSCME staff and strong Democrats they too were ready to see what would transpire. &#x26;nbsp;My daughter decided to join us for the sheer entertainment of watching how the three of us would react to hearing Wilson&#x27;s speech. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>SC Repub lawyer lost challenge to close satellite voting locations</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/10/18/634365/-SC-Repub-lawyer-lost-challenge-to-close-satellite-voting-locations</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Last Monday, the Aiken County Election Board closed the three satellite voting locations in the county. &#x26;nbsp;An 11th hour protest from a South Carolina Republican who is serving as counsel and parliamentarian to the party, shut down the satellite absentee voting locations on Monday.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Last night the Aiken County Election Board held an emergency meeting to reopen the satellite offices. &#x26;nbsp;According the the South Carolina Attorney General&#x27;s office, satellite absentee voting is allowed. &#x26;nbsp;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://chronicle.augusta.com/images/headlines/101808/1018_AikenVote.pdf&#x22;&#x3E;http://chronicle.augusta.com/...&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Republicans block satellite absentee voting in Aiken Co. SC</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/10/14/629964/-Republicans-block-satellite-absentee-voting-in-Aiken-Co-SC</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;In order to vote early a South Carolinian must meet the criteria to absentee vote. To be eligible to absentee vote, the list includes: over 65 years of age, physically disabled, military, for reasons of employment that prevents voting on election day and a few other reasons. &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://scvotes.org/south_carolina_voting_information_page&#x22;&#x3E;http://scvotes.org/...&#x3C;/a&#x3E;
&#x3C;br /&#x3E;The Aiken County Election Board had set up several satellite absentee voting sites around the county due to the large number anticipated to be absentee voting. &#x26;nbsp;One of the satellite absentee sites in the city of Aiken was supposed to open yesterday.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Where do I start?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/19/570260/-Where-do-I-start</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;I had received one of the many Obama smear emails from an old hometown friend who asked me ,&#x22;Is this true?&#x22; The smear email was entitled, Obama the Patriot - removes American flag from his plane. It cited Snopes.com, but, of course, didn&#x27;t include the entire article. I was able to debunk it, in addition to replying to my friend, I also replied to his buddy that had sent it to him. &#x26;nbsp;Well, that has been a mistake, or at least a challenge. Now I keep getting replies from the guy and I can&#x27;t let them pass, so I keep countering his stupidity. The latest email from the idiot, is the one I am asking you for help. &#x26;nbsp;I need some direction, with short replies to issues that I know need detail, but figure the guy won&#x27;t read anything more than a few sentences. His email is below the fold:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
