<title>Canada salutes you, progressive Americans!</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/9/1159463/-Canada-salutes-you-progressive-Americans</link>
<description>
&#x3C;p&#x3E;I have been a long time Lurker of Daily Kos. As a Canadian citizen who can&#x27;t even participate in your fascinating electoral process, I actually took strange guilty pleasure in US politics, even right-wing crazy sites like freerepublic! The 2012 election cycle has been my favorite reality show. Some people enjoy Honey Boo Boo or the Kardashians, I love me some left vs right drama!&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;That said, probably to no surprise to any of you here, every one here (in Toronto) enthusiastically cheered as President Obama won re-election. But for me personally, and especially my workplace, it was really a joyful personal relief.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;You see I am an animator. My studio makes children&#x27;s cartoons for a living - Max and Ruby, Arthur, Wild Kratts and such to name a few. On the eve of election we were very worried that a Romney win would mean cuts to PBS, early childhood education and such, because our livelihoods actually depended on it! Our nervousness was palpable, but our elation and relief were downright exploding as the results rolled in!&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;Although it still scared many of us how viable Romney actually seemed, but none of that matters now. I know you guys have all seen the joy and excitement around the globe, but I have to express this on behalf of my studio and all animation studios around the world who make their livelihood on education and entertaining the new generation: Thank you. You have not only secured our futures, but millions of kids&#x27; futures as well with your precious votes! The entire world really depends on you guys! Even though I&#x27;ve heard my fair share of jokes at the expense of Americans here. Let me reassure you again, not that you guys need it:&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
&#x3C;p&#x3E;We love you, bro. May the crazy devolving rightwing in the US and around the globe keep slipping into irrelevancy!&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Is Yahoo the Fox News of the Internet?</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/4/23/723491/-Is-Yahoo-the-Fox-News-of-the-Internet</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Like many of you, I have taken a special guilty-pleasure in observing conservative rage and angst since Obama and democrats&#x27; triumphant victory in 2008. I frequent places like Hot Air, Free Republic, and even checked out some Limbaugh clips once in a while. Knowing that US has been steadily climbing back onto the right track, as shown by the new &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obama100_days_ap_poll;_ylt=Aoob9wRPw.ihVm_88dgBBTDZn414&#x22;&#x3E;AP-GFK poll&#x3C;/a&#x3E;, I drink their pain like the deliciously sweet elixir that it is.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>RNC sure loves to pamper their Caribou Barbie...</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/10/21/617480/-RNC-sure-loves-to-pamper-their-Caribou-Barbie</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;...for all she&#x27;s worth.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I know short diaries aren&#x27;t usually appreciated, but I don&#x27;t see this mentioned yet so hopefully I can spear-head this hilarious story. If anyone else does it before me, oops.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;You think John Edwards&#x27; $400 haircut or John McCain&#x27;s $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes were bad? How about &#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20081022/pl_politico/14805;_ylt=AhvW1sR7YJsLfm7Wx5NHNbyyFz4D&#x22;&#x3E;$150K worth of shopaholic fashion dream worthy of Paris Hilton to pamper the RNC&#x27;s very own Caribou Barbie Sarah Palin??&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Obama strategy on Palin: Sit and wait..???</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/9/4/577617/-Obama-strategy-on-Palin-Sit-and-wait</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080904/pl_politico/13167;_ylt=AqEZWiOykj35T8jZzzXQhnuyFz4D&#x22;&#x3E;Is this really a good idea?&#x3C;/a&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I know the Obama campaign is staying classy and letting the media doing all the vetting... but with all the juicy info on Palin so far (ones that have nothing to do with her personal life or family), is sitting and waiting really a good idea?? It angers me how conservatives have always mocked the idea of the playing gender card (on Clinton), and now they are turning the tables on us with Palin, and so far it seems to be working. I&#x27;m surprised that Biden is so far playing so nice with her....&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I am glad however that female dem governors and Hillary Clinton are being dispatched to counter Palin, but&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;I fear the democrats may yet again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>Guiliani thinks Hillary speech helps GOP. Wow.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/27/572180/-Guiliani-thinks-Hillary-speech-helps-GOP-Wow</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;a href=&#x22;http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080827/pl_afp/usvoterrepublicansconvention_080827145801&#x22;&#x3E;Color me speechless&#x3C;/a&#x3E;. I know the GOP is pretty adept at turning dem strengths into weaknesses, from Kerry&#x27;s war-hero status to Obama&#x27;s soaring crowd-drawing speeches. But while it&#x27;s pretty obvious Mr. Noun-Verb-9/11 is beyond any sense of reality in claiming GOP advantage over Hillary&#x27;s brilliant speech, I wouldn&#x27;t put it past them to somehow &#x3C;strong&#x3E;able&#x3C;/strong&#x3E; to turn that into an advantage for McCain, yet again! A stretch I know, but nontheless I worry dems will snatch victory from the jaws of defeat again.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

<title>My first time post: US election from a foreign perspective.</title>
<link>https://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/21/571707/-My-first-time-post-US-election-from-a-foreign-perspective</link>
<description>&#x3C;p&#x3E;Hi guys, I&#x27;ve been a lurker here for quite some time. I am not an American. I am an immigrant working/living in Toronto Canada as an animator and I&#x27;ve been following US politics and polls very very intensely since 9/11. To be honest, US politics is so much more fun and interesting than the boring-ass Canadians, not to mention more gut-wrenching as well. I used to support Hillary Clinton until she went all negative on Obama. Now I&#x27;m an Obamaphile like many of you. The world needs an Obama presidency, that much is true. But I&#x27;m disheartened that McCain has been gaining in the polls when the republican brand should be in the dumpster.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;Sometimes I wish I was an American just to be a political junkie who can actually make a difference.&#x3C;/p&#x3E;

&#x3C;p&#x3E;What&#x27;s wrong with US voters???&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
