Congressman John Conyers has an excellent diary up addressing the lukewarm reaction the Downing Street Memo has received in the press---well, at least in the news outlets that have the courage to cover it.

It has been nearly two weeks since the damning memo was released, and the Fourth Estate has failed us. Every American has a right to know about its government's decision to wage war, and every news outlet has the responsibility to bring that information to the public.

Since the media won't inform our fellow citizens, we will.

Thanks to all who contributed ideas and assistance in the previous Downing Street Memo Diary.

Members of the Daily Kos community have worked non-stop in the last 48 hours to launch a website where citizens can learn about the memo and take action.

Highacidity, Mikecan1978, and myself have established this site as one where people can learn about the memo, and, most importantly, take action.

The website, DowningStreetMemo.com has the following features:

The full text of the memo
A call to action, complete with a way for citizens to contact the media, their representatives, and the President.
A page comparing the text of the memo to statement by the bush adminstration
A petition for signatures to join Congressman Conyers in demanding answers.

The site will be updated as the issue hopefully gets the news coverage it deserves.
