You might be asking, just what delicately nuanced tactics did the Rove Republican minions employ in paring their target demographic down to their hardcore base? Simple: they opened their mouths.
As proof, consider these recent statements by various high-profile Republicans
It's clear from reviewing the above pronouncements that Karl Rove and his team have decided to focus for the last week of the election cycle on wooing only their hardcore base. That's right, they have conceded to the Democrats the balance of the American electorate: the enormous "Still-In-Possession-Of-At-Least-Two-Functioning-Brain-Cells" demographic.
Every time they open their mouths, right-wingers remind Americans of the gulf between Republican Reality® and, well, reality. They haven't yet figured out how to handle Truth. For Republicans, Truth is like quicksand: the more they fight it, the deeper they sink.
So, my request to all Republicans in these last few days before the elections?

Heh. Once again, Reality has a well-known liberal bias.
So, on Monday, when George Allen refused to answer Mike Stark's questions about Allen's past, a few of Allen's Brownshirts-in-Training demonstrated how they support our veterans by practicing their Hulk Hogan-wannabe act on poor Mike, an ex-Marine and current law student.
Unfortunately for Allen, someone was there with a video camera.
- D'oh! -
And, darned if ol' Marilyn Musgrave didn't duck questions from one of her own constituents, while some of her own people engaged in a little assault and battery.
On camera.

Let's see: Republicans hurt themselves by -
Hmmm . . . it seems Republicans just can't be seen in public
at all without making themselves look like idiots.
Well, it is almost wintertime - maybe hibernation is an option.
UPDATE: Wow. It's a veritable tidal wave of stupidity. Those Republicans are workin' hard for the Dems. From the comments:
Heh.
