I explained to her that several environmentally minded members from the Democratic blogosphere got together and made the ads for various reasons, primarily to send a message to Chevy about the problems created by gas guzzling SUV's. And that totaltactics.org started a "Chevy Carnival" where people could post links to their ads.
Also, she wondered about the ads that are no longer there, so I told her that those submitted to the contest were silently deleted by Chevy, rather than received as the constructive criticism we intended. However, those that weren't sent into the contest - just emailed and saved - are still viewable, along with those on YouTube.
I'm not sure if she will mention DailyKos or even me, because she said the script was already written and they were "crunching" the show (think that's the term she used). Just in case though, turn in to Nightline tonight; they're definitely running a story on the ads!
[UPDATED: They didn't mention us, but the segment was pretty fair and did show a few bits of the advertisements. Also, they interviewed someone who I think also put a few up at Youtube. His name there was "Gundersen" and he added me to his friends list the other day. All in all, not too shabby. It did help get the message out.]
