We have a government more interested in monitoring all of our normal everyday phone calls than they are in capturing Osama Bin Laden.
We have a government more content in spending untold hundreds of billions of dollars rebuilding what we destroy in Iraq, than we are in rebuilding what nature destroyed in New Orleans.
I recently returned from a trip to New Orleans on business. The downtown and French Quarter are recovering, although there are still highrises with boards as windows, and the Superdome is still half uncovered.
But then I went to the Ninth Ward.
I have no words.
Look at these pictures...
8.5 months later.
...and it is still flooded in some parts....
....and people are living....here....outside....in a goddamn refugee camp...in America.
So, Mr. President, if you don't mind, could you stop with the eavesdropping on stupid conversations and actually do your job. If I recall, after Katrina hit, you made a big spectacle of yourself on live television marching across a city park in New Orleans to a podium, where you addressed us, the American people. And if I recall, you promised that you would rebuild all of this city.
If you are a man of your world, you would have rebuilt this city by now. But you are not. You are a despicable man, with a cold and evil heart.
Looking at these pictures, I am more aware than ever that we, the American people, are on our own. We are alone. Our government is not interested in helping us. They are only interested in spying on us.
