Google searches for "Untitled History Project" are far more revealing about the film's origins and producers than searches under the Path to 9/11. The IMDB page for the movie does not even credit the producers.. However, several industry sites announcing filming locations identify the major producer players as follows:
Marc E. Platt - Executive Producer
Hans Proppe - Co Producer
Mark Winemaker - Co Producer
Richard Luke Rothschild - Co Producer
Filmographies are all easily viewable at IMDB.. none appear to have much political bent except for the fact that Winemaker produced 2003's "The Rudy Guliani Story"
Here's where it turns interesting.. As has been pointed out in comments in a couple of other blogs, Director David Cunningham is the son of Christian evangelical organization Youth With a Mission's founder Loren Cunningham.
Further connections with this organization are evident here..http://www.markandkrista.com/... a "mission update" from two evangelicals who are joining an offshoot called the "The Film Institute", whose first project is **bong** the "Untitled History Project".
One of the goals of this Film Institute is to "help filmmakers, actors, technicians, etc. realize their God given potential and purpose in perhaps the most influential sphere of modern culture - film and television."
In a brochure for The Film Institute found on a YWAM members live journal, the organization describes itself as "An Auxiliary organization of University of the Nations, a non-profit entity designed to facilitate and launch University of Nations students into the film and television industry. The Film Institute provides internships, apprenticeships, scholarships, and the production of culturally relevant films that will cause awareness and resources for current issues."
Digby's been writing a lot about this and goes into even more detail here..

The point is, that the driving force behind this movie is the evangelical, slightly nutty right wing.. Any casual glimpse into the websites of YWAM or the University of Nations would be struck by their cult-like nature. And yet these very important pieces of information are missing from most of the discussion about this film and ABC's decision to heavily market it. In fact, there seems to be an almost deliberate effort to conceal this information by both the filmmakers and ABC. Why? Because the evangelical right wants to influence us "non-believers" without us knowing who is doing the influencing. They know that the majority of Americans might feel a little uneasy knowing they are watching a film about 9/11 produced by an organization that wants to "master the art of visual story-telling from a Christian perspective, while still entertaining a secular audience".
ABC's Steve McPherson told Variety magazine that "Some things you do for commerce and some things because they are the right thing to do".
This is all about presenting 9/11 through the prism of the evangelical Christian right perspective.. so of course the hatred of Bill Clinton and his immorality will be thrust forward in the interpretation.
This is about more than just ABC trying to influence an election. It's about evangelical cults taking over the very foundations of the major media. I'm afraid this is just the beginning. The evangelicals are carefully honing their true believers into assuming important and influential positions not just in government, but in every aspect of our culture and industry. This is just the beginning. Democrats need to realize that we have more than one war to fight.
