[Where To Begin.....]
Every week I think this might be the week that Britney Spears doesn't give me material to write this bloody thing with, and every week she proves me wrong. The latest is shoplifting at a porn shop. According to US Weekly, Britney went to the Hustler Store in West Hollywood on November 18th, where she decided to try on the underwear. However, like every other store on God's green Earth, the Hustler Store doesn't allow people to try on undies and told Britney that. But it seems Britney had something of a fit in the middle of the store.
"She looked out of it. There was nothing going on behind her eyes." At that point, Spears threw a fit, and took off her own underwear before trying on a pair of boyshorts (with "Barely Legal' stitched across the rear end) in the middle of the store while 15 other customers looked on.
An eyewitness tells Us, "The employees kept saying 'Don't change out here!' She's just like, 'Well, I couldn't take them in the fitting room!' It was like dealing with a child."
Spears' tantrum only continued. "The staff told her she had to pay, and she rolled her eyes, but paid with a credit card," the source tells Us. As payback, "on her way out, she went up to a mannequin, snatched the wig off the head, and stole it!"
However, now there are conflicting reports on Britney being with child. Because this is just what the world needs, another child for this mother of the year candidate. According to Intouch Weekly, the alleged daddy is one JR Rotem. However, Rotem is denying the story. But hold on says Intouch, they claim to have proof Rotem confirmed the pregnancy. However, their proof is sketchy at best. So who the fuck knows? In nine months, we'll know who's full of shit.
But you might be asking, how might Britney get her boy-toy for the night in the mood. Well ask no longer, because she has a fantasy room.....
.....Filled with ticklers, whips and fur-trimmed handcuffs hanging from the metal bedframe. (Please, hold your shudders until the end.)
The second-floor room also features a mirrored ceiling, a glass jar containing spanking paddles and a closet full of kinky outfits, according to an "insider" who stumbled into the den of sin.
"She wears Catholic schoolgirl uniforms, a maid's uniform and a Cinderella outfit," claims the mole. The source also contends Brit is so obsessed with Marilyn Monroe that she wants her nose redone to look like the blond model of self-destruction.
So how might be the cleaning regimen in a house loaded with KY & God knows what else?
Star's source also claims the house is a stinky sty — that the white couches bear hideous stains of diaper-changing and Britney's dog. According to the tab, a "court-appointed watchdog" is set to declare the place a potential "health hazard."
But back to the pleasure equipment — who's helping Brit use it? According to the mag, her "new squeeze" is Michael Marchand, a Hollywood waiter and aspiring actor. But his mom insists that they're "just friends" who like "watching videos together and playing Scrabble."
On the driving front, Britney new driver has reportedly quit, after being unable to deal with the paparazzi attention. Britney is forbidden from driving with the kids in the car, but it hasn't stopped her from almost getting killed driving by herself. And in news that must have caused Brit to rip out her hair extensions, Kevin Federline, in a piece labeled "good father", was named one of the most influential people under 45 by Details magazine.
[Is The Lohan On The Sauce?]
According to Page Six, Lindsay Lohan will be putting out a third album, called "Nobody's Angel." Sources differ as to whether it's being done out of a contractual obligation with Universal Music Group or because it was "planned" by Lohan. But the other gossip circling Linds is reported boozing & arguing with new snowboarder boyfriend Riley Giles, who was a guest of the Lohan family for Thanksgiving. "Pals" told the Daily News.....
After a late-night visit to the Beatrice Inn on Monday, says the source, Lohan was calling Manhattan pals for a place to stay. One friend received numerous voice messages around 4 a.m.
But the first source says Lindsay's alcohol intake was in moderation.
"For Lindsay, her real problem was drugs, not alcohol. In the past, it wasn't the drinking that was the problem - it was the heavy drug use," says the friend. "The drug use was way more intense than her party drinking. As long as she isn't doing drugs, she's okay."
However, Lindsay rep is claiming this is something her "so-called" friends are making up about her. So judge for yourself.

The Joker: If you click on the image below, you can see Heath Ledger in all of his glory as Batman's arch-nemesis, The Joker. A teaser trailer is rumored to be coming soon, but the viral campaign for 'The Dark Knight' continues. You can learn about the Gotham Times by clicking here. And see the Joker's own version, The HaHaHa Times, by clicking here.
Some of what's been reported about how Ledger has gone about preparing himself for the role of the Joker is interesting.
The actor described his interpretation of the character as being a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy". To prepare for the role, Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for six weeks, formulating the character's posture, voice and psychology. He started a diary, in which he wrote the Joker's thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance, and he also looked at the books Batman: The Killing Joke and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. Ledger also cited inspiration in A Clockwork Orange and Sid Vicious. Ultimately, "there’s nothing that consistent", as his main objective was to frighten the audience. Playing the role put a strain on the actor's sleeping patterns.
Battlestar Galactica - Pocket Knife.. Err... Razor:
"You're born, you live and you die. There are no do-overs, no second chances to make things right if you frak 'em up the first time. Not in this life anyway."
I know it's almost a week later since it aired, but I thought I would go over the happenings in the "Galactica" universe. Especially since it's the only thing BSG you'll see until at least March 2008, or ever on Sci-Fi. More on that later.....
"Battlestar Galactica: Razor" tells the tale of the Battlestar Pegasus & her crew in the minutes, days & months after the Cylon attack on the 12 Colonies. It centers around Lieutenant Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Jacobsen), a young colonial officer who has just come aboard the Pegasus when the Cylon attack begins. Through her eyes, the audience bears witness to the actions of Admiral Helena Cain (Michelle Forbes), who leads the crew of the Pegasus down a path that resembles a dark "mirror universe" version (to borrow a Star Trek phrase) of Galactica's journey. The story progresses on two different tracks. One in the "present", in the days after Apollo was named Commander of the Pegasus, and another in flashback to the past. As Shaw is named the XO of the Pegasus, she is still haunted by the memories of what she participated in.
A couple of thoughts.....
- There was some talk that a reason might be given that explained Cain's actions, with some believing the aftermath of her relationship with "Gina" (Pegasus' Number Six Model) would be the breaking point. But the onscreen evidence points to her being disturbed from the very beginning. Prior to all of that, Cain shoots her executive officer on the bridge of the Pegasus for disagreeing with her action to order her own men into a trap. And then goes deeper & deeper into darkness, as she authorizes piracy & the murder of innocent civilians to further her own goals (which Cain rationalizes to Shaw as making someone into a "razor" capable of surviving).
- The relationship between Cain & Gina adds even another level to Cain's actions. She ordered/allowed her security officer to humiliate, rape & brutally beat her lover.
- I thought Adama's rationalization of Cain's actions was laughable.
Adama: I've been going through Cain's log and from a tactical perspective it's hard to find fault in anything she did. Or that Kendra Shaw did.
Apollo: They butchered innocent civilians, Dad. Come on. How can you ignore that?
Adama: I know that I didn't have to face any of the situations that she did. I had the President in my face, arguing for the survival of the civilian fleet. I've Colonel Tigh keeping me honest, balancing my morality and my tactics. And I had you. Now...you don't have any children, so you might not understand this, but you see yourself reflected in their eyes. And there are some things that I've thought of doing with this fleet, but I've stopped myself, because I knew I'd have to face you the following day.
- Admiral Cain did have that person. It was her XO. She put a bullet in his skull.
- Where Adama leads out of empathy & feelings for his son, Starbuck, Colonel Tigh and his crew, Cain leads out of a base instinct of survival & vengeance at any & all cost. One of the best ways to see the contrast is in the speeches each give to their respective crews after escaping the Cylon destruction of the Colonies. In the original miniseries, Adama leads his crew in saying "so say we all" & giving his people hope in finding a new home in Earth, Cain leads her crew in a call for vengeance.....
Cain: What do we do now? Do we run? Do we hide? I think those are the easy choices. A philosopher once said "When faced with untenable alternatives you should consider your imperative." Look around you. Our imperative is right here, in our bulkheads, in our planes, in our guns and in ourselves. War is our imperative. And if right now victory seems like an impossibility, then we have something else to reach for: revenge, payback. So we will fight. Because in the end it's the only alternative our enemies have left us. I say let's make these murdering things understand that as long as this crew and this ship survive, that this war, that they started, will not be over.
- A little bit more about the Cylons is revealed. It's strongly implied the known Human-Cylon models were created at the end of the original Human-Cylon war, from the genetic material of people kidnapped by the Cylons. The "Cylon Guardians" may imply this separate faction of Cylon have their own "plan" for everyone.
- Is the first Hybrid the "God" the Human-Cylons speak about? Is his words, "All this has happened before, and will happen again... again... again" a clue to the ultimate ending? What about his warning Starbuck will lead Humanity to its end? A lie or exaggeration?
- The best moment in "Razor" is when the Old School Cylons show up and utter their famous line.....
But will there be a final season? A litte over a week ago NBC-Universal invoked the "force-majeure" clause in contracts, putting the actors on indefinite hold without pay.
One of the Battlestar Galactica thespians tells me: "When our agents and managers phoned business affairs for clarification, they were told that we are on suspension without pay. We are not terminated. We are on hold to BSG with no pay in perpetuity until the strike is over. When the strike does end Universal/Scifi will then decide whether they want to bring the show back or let us go. Until that time we are in first position with BSG and will have to clear any other project with Scifi/Uni.
"They are not following article 61 of the SAG agreement and are about to get a lot of calls from SAG lawyers. They say that since we have shot the minimum 13 episodes of this season, as per our contracts, that they are under no obligation to pay us or let us go. We are essentially on hiatus. To say yesterday was a tough day on set as this information was slowly presented to us would be a profound understatement."
Galactica's executive producer, Ron Moore, then posted this on his blog.....
"I refuse to believe that we won't finish, that we won't be back to film our final stories, but I know and accept there is that possibility. The strike will be a seminal event for many of us in this business as it's put literally everything we care about in the balance (if only for a short time so far) for something we all believe is important. ... Galactica's coming back, I frakking promise you that. But I am ready to put the rest of the story on the table and take the risk that I'll never be able to tell it, in support of this strike. Like Adama says, you make your choices and then you live with them."
As to the WGA strike.....
AMPTP Offers A New Proposal To The Writers: Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood had a story on Monday, claiming sources are telling her a deal might happen before Christmas.
"It's already done, basically," the insider describes. That's because of the weeks worth of groundwork by the Hollywood agents working the writers guild leadership on one side, and the studio and network moguls on the other. I was told not to expect an agreement this week. But my source thought it was possible that the strike could be settled before Christmas.
However, there hasn't been any public movement to confirm this yet. Today brought word that the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents the studios, networks & producers, have sweetened their offer a bit to the WGA. According to the AMPTP's statement.....
The AMPTP today unveiled a New Economic Partnership to the WGA, which includes groundbreaking moves in several areas of new media, including streaming, content made for new media and programming delivered over digital broadcast channels.
The entire value of the New Economic Partnership will deliver more than $130 million in additional compensation above and beyond the more than $1.3 billion writers already receive each year. In response, the WGA has asked for time to study the proposals.
The WGA requested a suspension of negotiations until December 4th to study the offer. While the details about this proposal are still sketchy, Variety claims the reaction was negative.
Insiders said the WGA initially showed scant interest in the companies' sweetened package of new-media proposals.
"The WGA is not budging," one insider said.
But what if a deal can't be made?
If the sides do not make progress next week, it's most likely that the AMPTP would opt for launching negotiations with the Directors Guild of America. The DGA's contract expires June 30, and the directors have indicated they're ready to start talks even if the WGA hasn't made a deal -- a move that could undermine the WGA's leverage. However, it was noteworthy that the AMPTP statement included the conciliatory sentiment that the moguls "continue to believe that there is common ground to be found between the two sides."
Speculation has also emerged that the WGA could call off the strike and tell writers to return to work, leaving open the possibility that the strike could resume at any time.
Did ABC Fake Marie Osmond's Fainting Spell?: Indy Car driver Helio Castroneves may have won "Dancing With The Stars", but there was a little bit of backstage intrigue. After Castroneves won, news broke that he had separated from his fiance. This lead to speculation of a relationship with his dancing partner Julianne Hough, with some trying to read the tea leaves in whether they noticed affection between the two during their routines on the show. Both Hough & Castroneves deny the speculation, and say they're just friends.
However, the other story concerned Marie Osmond. It became a big media spectacle when Osmond fainted on live television after dancing. According to TMZ, one of their moles claims it was all staged.
Sources on the set of "Dancing With the Stars" tell TMZ that Marie Osmond's fainting spell was scripted -- to the point where she had a writer just off camera feeding her lines when she stood up!
Our moles say Marie has a writer on set at all times, prompting her with witty conversation. One on-set source says he was in position when Marie went down -- and didn't miss a beat.
Osmond's publicist called the charge "ridiculous", and denied anyone fed her lines. Their explanation for why she fainted?
"That show happened during the wildfires and Marie has allergies, there was smoke in the air which was extremely toxic. The trailers for the show are outside the stage and she was breathing the air. It's happened before."
