We have all heard by now the accusations of "voter fraud" by ACORN in Nevada. The accusations continue onto other key swing states, shockingly not in uncontested states. How can this be, that Republicans have noticed this "widespread" fraud in these places, but not others?
According to ACORN's statement on the matter, they lay out their painstaking process to verify voter identity before turning the names over to the secretary of state. They also say that someone paid to gather these names padded their numbers by making up names. That would explain the Mary Poppins and Dallas Cowboys that have been mentioned on Fox as examples over and over. But, this leaves a few questions.
- Why now? Why right after the deadline for registration and so close to the elction? These names have been trickling in for a long time now, you think they have been monitoring? Of course, so this is the chosen time. They have picked a time when nothing can be corrected, verified and changed.
- How can this be so widespread, yet apparently only in battleground states?
- How do Republicans get on this so quickly and hammer until it is now spreading to other media outlets besides fox?
The answer, They did it. Republicans are the party of dirty tricks, of putting up billboards in 2004 in black neighborhoods telling people to vote on teh wrong day. They put police near voting places to scare of many. They have sent out fliers listing the wrong polling places. I could go on, but I'm already sick to my stomach.
Think about it, there are two easy ways. Republican operatives go out to street corners and register as fake people. Simple. Do it on a busy day, and the person gathering doesn't even look down to see who it is. But this would take too many people right?
How about this. As many of us know, look for a job in non-profits, and ACORN jobs are always there. They don't pay well, but the upside is helping the community. If a Republican operative took one of these, they could easily jam those lists with fake voters. If they got jobs even higher up, they could enter them in the system without the normal verification, and sent them off to the secretary of state.
The job here isn't to add fake people alone, but to cast doubt on ALL new voters. The new voters are overwhelmingly Democratic, and they are the game changer. When McCain loses these swing states, bring on the lawyers to challenge large chunks of new voters, demanding more and more proof of who they are. They will of course attack areas of lower income, minority filled, or ACORN gathered voters. Judges may demand proof of ID, which many might not show up to identify, or many don't have.
The Republicans just need to cast doubt here, to make people wonder about these new voters. That way they can swoop in and disqualify all they need to once again steal an election in the courts.
