I have a condition that is affecting my memory; specifically my short term memory which makes it a pain in the ass to try to teach me new tricks. I can still sing song lyrics from 35 years ago and kick your ass in Jeopardy, but I leave stuff in the microwave overnight, laundry in the washer until it gets moldy and needs to be washed again, I have left the stove on twice in the last week alone, and I don't remember what you just said.
What did you say?
I had an operation when I was 8 months old to make my condition go away, and lucky enough not to need another one until I was 21. Now I'm 40 - still an amazing track record, but I'm really sliding now. If I wait, it will get worse. If I see a doctor now it will be declared a "pre-existing condition" even if I get insurance down the road once I find a job, and therefore will be the one thing they won't cover.
So do I hold out until I can't type anymore, or give in and go bankrupt?
