Recently the NAACP voted to approve a resolution that repudiated certain segments of the Tea Party Movement that it considrs racist. AAReports has reached out to both sides. I invite you to listen to Dale Roberston of teaparty.org who claims to be the modern day founder of the Tea Party Movement. He explains how he feels about the resolution and answers other questions.
Here are the questions:
What was your first reaction after hearing about the proposed resolution?
Do you feel that it paints the entire Tea Party Movement unfairly with a broad brush?
Would you admit that there are some racist elements in the Tea Party Movement?
I don’t believe an entire movement is racist and it’s not fair to paint it that way but a criticism I have is that it seems as if Tea Party leaders only speak out about racism at their rallies when others bring it up. It is then denounced but it does make me wonder would anything have been said if others had pointed it out. What are your thoughts on that?
Would you be willing to sit down with NAACP leadership and discuss this issue if given the oppurtunity?
