As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Good morning friends, and welcome to another Saturday. By now, our family is neck deep in Hurricane Ian, and his BS, so not sure if i will be able to answer your comments… but before the Storm arrived, as always, it was preceded by a title wave of drama, everyone rushing around, struggling to be prepared as if this was the first storm of its kind in the history of humans.
Usually, my family is fairly well prepared for these things in advance, because we begin ‘kitting’ in April or May so that by the time the storms start lining up in the gulf we have this down to old hat. This year was no exception, until bit fell victim to a sob story and gave away a case of our bottled water. So, here are Mom and I, scrambling to come up with enough water to get four hu-mans, and innumerable furbutts safe through the storm.
I tried last night, ordering a case from wallgreens… i instead received -1- 20 oz. bottle. not ideal.. my mother sent me money this morning, to try again, i put together a $35 order including 3 cases of bottled water. after spending 20 minutes texting with the dasher about substitutions, our order was -canceled- without a word. and since the refund wont process for 3-5 days, i was.. again, out the money.
A friend of mine from far away, put together an order for us including several cases of water from big-lots. I get a call from the dasher… they are out of bottles, but they have gallon jugs… great. can we sub for those? No, the app wont let her.. she was on the verge of giving up, but decided to try one last time… the app approved the substitution the second time! so at last we have enough water -we hope- to get us through the storm…thanks to a very good friend and a determined stranger! See you all on the other side of Oz! Be safe!
