Minority Leader McCarthy;
According to Statista, a leading provider of market and consumer data, as of August 2022, the approval rating of the U.S. Congress was at 22 percent.
Statista reports that "Americans tend to see Congress as a group of ineffectual politicians who are out of touch with their constituents."
Why?
Because instead of working to serve the American people, many vengeful House members waste much of their time and millions of taxpayer dollars waging evidence-free attacks on members of the opposing political party.
As we know you know, we didn't elect you, members of your caucus, or Democrats to argue and fight like petulant fifth graders or spew insults like professional wrestlers.
We elected you and your House colleagues to behave like grown-ups and put the best interests of the American people ahead of petty political squabbles.
The House is a taxpayer-funded organization where Republicans and Democrats alike are handsomely paid to work together today to build a better tomorrow for all Americans.
Since House leaders haven't been willing to put their egos aside and establish clearly defined core values to persuade members from both sides of the aisle to work together to confront the many challenges facing America in 2022, I have a suggestion.
It's time for you and the Speaker to "lead" by establishing a team-building program to urge members to work together to produce honest, objective legislation to improve the quality of life for the American people.
Why?
Because team-building will:
- Boost morale as members begin to work together, inside and outside the Capitol
- Create a positive work environment for all members, regardless of political affiliation
- Encourage trust as members learn they can depend on each other
- Identify members who may have unique leadership qualities
- Improve communication between members on both sides of the aisle
- Increase productivity as members begin to work together to achieve specific legislative goals
- Prevent miscommunications and misunderstandings
- Prove to the American people that members are no longer "a group of ineffectual politicians who are out of touch with their constituents."
It's time for you and the Speaker to get to work.
Isn't it?
Just saying,
