Kamala was a little late starting her remarks because she’d stopped at the working area of the orchard first to speak with the farmstand workers and the crews that were picking apples.
When the vans and SUVs came driving over to us, across the road by a pond, we all applauded, and then cheered when she hopped out and high five’d her way to the speaking platform.
It was good stump, told us about her family, her political history, her plans for the future, told the joke about her mom, told us Justice Was On The Ballot, and asked us for our support.
When it was ended much the crowd headed to the cars, but she stayed and went around the front of the stage chatting, taking photos, hugging, laughing — and asking for each person’s support.
She suspended her primary campaign before Iowa.
Fast forward: Joe Biden wins the primary, Kamala endorses Joe, and Joe asks Kamala’s KHive for their support:
“If I have her team behind me I know there’s no stopping us!”
Faster forward: Joe asks Kamala to be his running mate, “Are you ready to go to work?”
Kamala was on the ballot.
Record setting fundraising after the addition of Kamala to the ticket.
And then, Joe and Kamala won. History. Made.
But, the job has only begun. Our support is still needed. There’s still work to do.
Lace ‘em up, everyone. It’s time to go to work.
