Politico is reporting that Sen McConnell has warned his caucus not to join a group of House GOPers who plan to challenge the electoral college vote.
McConnell told his caucus that challenging the results would force Republicans to take a “terrible vote” because they would need to vote it down and appear against President Donald Trump. Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) also echoed McConnell’s remarks.
Yes, it would be terrible to force them to actually have to acknowledge in a vote that Biden won and Trump lost. So I have a proposal. Please some Democratic senator, please insist on a vote. Make the objection. Apparently it only takes one Senator to force a vote as Congressman Brooks is looking for a single Republican Senator to support his cause. Let it be a Democrat. Make them vote for Trump or for the Constitution. Step up to the plate. An up or down vote on the validity of the electoral college results and the end of the Trump lie.
