GOTV: Brown and Boxer UP, Prop 19 DOWN in new poll

According to PPP, they find Jerry Brown up over Whitman by 11 points, 53-42. They also find Barbara Boxer over Fiorina by 9 points, 52-43. Which of course is great news for those still shaky over whether or not Boxer can win as polls have showned Fiorina catching up to her, after a barrage of negative Boxer ads by Fiorina. This race is still pretty close, and its coming down to the Independents. Also, Fiorina was just hospitalized for breast cancer complications, I wish her well and hope she makes a full recovery.

Today i did one hour of phonebanking for Esiquio Uballe, the Democratic nominee for State Assembly in the 72nd District in California. Right of the bat i must tell you all that i'm not old enough to vote (not for another two years), but after reading Seneca Doane's wonderful must-read diary, i became motivated to do this. So this afternoon, the wonderful Seneca Doane himself picked me up to Fullerton to do an hour shift of phonebanking (I wish i had done more, but the high school work is daunting), and automatically it felt weird, but in a good way kind of weird.

According to SurveyUSA, Democrats are doing much better than their previous polls show.

CA-GOV: August 31-Sept 1 in parentheses
Jerry Brown (D): 46% (40%)
Meg Whitman (R): 43% (47%)

CA-SEN: August 31-Sept 1 in parentheses
Barbara Boxer (D): 49% (46%)
Carly Fiorina (R): 43% (48%)

Even SurveyUSA is showing a lead for Democrats, as it hasn't always been like that for them. What does that mean?

For too long, we've heard hardly word from local congressman, Gary "Dirty" Miller (R-idiculous). Probably one of the most low-key GOP'ers out in Congress. However, just over a week ago, Miller posted his weekly "Captial Connection", filled with your typical right-wing shock and scare talking points. However, Miller probably doesn't see (or care) that in his December 4th edition, he starts off by slamming HCR as a gov't takeover, then he encourages for participation in Medicare Part D, a government run federal health care plan. Simply a huge double-standard..and on the same article no less! Read below the fold for quotes..

I have researched much on Mr. MacMurray, and i find him to be a very educated and thoughtful person to represent me and other Orange County citizens in the 72nd AD, left vacant by the recent actions of Mike (ugh, i share his name) "Spanky" DuVall and his affair with a lobbyist. The GOP insiders and party bosses have all but gone for Ackerman (Most mayors, city councilfolks have as well), while Norby clings on to the voter-rich Fullerton base he knows best as a former Fullerton Councilman, which also gave John McCain a razor-thin 213-vote margin in 2008, he ended up winning 51% in the 72nd, a far-cry from the 60% Bush won in 2004. To find out why such a change occured from 2004, follow me below the fold as i take you into the world of Orange County politics...
