My husband is a professional editor and in the days following Katrina, he watched in heartbreak as the debacle unfolded. He began recording footage from CNN and cut together his own short film, which ends on a note that's even scarier and sadder now than it was in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane.
He put together this short film, which I still think is the best that I've seen. Half way through, there is beefy black man shouting at the camera and I cry every time I see him. I can't imagine the powerlessness he must be feeling - the sad, needless irrationality of the pain and suffering those citizens endured. Yell all you want, man, Bush can't hear ya' from the plane.
