I'll start a list, see if there's one which CONs approved of:
The Revolution - nope.
An elected executive - nope (hint - the Whigs wanted a King).
The Louisiana Purchase. Nope, they thought it was too expensive. $03 per acre was outrageous.
The Trans-Continental Railroad. Again, nope. Gee, those CONs have a difficult time getting anything right. I'll keep looking.
The Civil War. Well, shoot. They seceded and decided to kill off fellow Americans, so nope.
Which brings us to... he Emancipation Proclamation and its' sibling, the 14th Amendment. Again, nope.
Seward's Folly? The 16th Amendment? The 17th Amendment? Entry into WWI? Entry into WWII? Nope, nope, nope, nope and they supported The Third Reich (just ask Charles Lindbergh who was asked to run for President on the GOPer ticket in 1940) so, nope.
I'm sure I'll find something...
The Civil Rights Act? The Voting Rights Act? The Equal Rights Amendment? Nope, nope and they blocked it.
The Interstate Highway System under the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act of 1956? The WPA or the CCC? FICA? Unemployment Insurance? Child Labor Laws? 40-hour work weeks? Medicare? Medicaid? Not a one of them.
Good Lord! I've found nothing. Not one damned thing. They have been obstructionists and opposed everything which, quite literally, helps make America, well, America. Every single bit of progress in American history was thanks to the liberals and progressives. All of it.
When CONs DID get their way, they repealed Glass-Steagall (as just one example) which led directly to the Bush Depression. They passed Right to Work laws which, in states where those idiotic statutes exist, job safety records are worse, pay is lower and there are both more unemployed and fewer with any medical benefits.
So, it really is a challenge. Go through all of the transformative laws in American history and find just one right wing proposal which was primarily for the good of the American people. (Hint- tax cuts are neither transformative nor are they for the good of the people.)
And for the dain bramaged out there - GOPer != CON and Democrat != Liberal. I know that's a toughy for many of the less intellectually gifted.
Let's add all that has been wrong with the GOPers, just in this Century (so, for the edification of the mentally challenged GOPer voters, these are not transformative changes, just sheer idiocy):
Thanks Karen M__ for most of the following:
