The so-called "Dream Ticket," which consists of an Obama/Clinton combination for those who have had their heads buried in the sand, is getting more push in the media. It's also getting pushed behind the scenes, if certain media and political sources are to be believed.
This ticket is the worst possible combination for a variety of reasons. In order to explore why more fully, however, we should debunk a few of the myths that the Clinton camp will use to try to push this "dream" into reality.
There are three myths that the Clinton camp consistently pushes: 1) that Clinton wins in November-battleground states; 2) that Obama doesn't get support from groups he needs (white working class men and uneducated white women over 30); 3) that without Clinton on the ticket, these groups Obama needs won't come to him.
The reasons not to have this ticket are readily apparent. Primarily, Clinton represents the "old politics" of the past few decades. Equally important, Clinton's style of campaigning (wrapped up and inseparable from her "old politics," really) is quite divisive and negative in ways that aren't substantive regarding policy.
