I am still sometimes just completely stunned by the unbelievable hypocrisy of some of the folks on "the Religious Right".
From a profile of the Family Research Council's president Tony Perkins in the New Orleans Times Picayune:
Conservative Christian prays Bush takes cue
But he [Tony Perkins] concedes that his Family Research Council post, which pays him more than $200,000 a year, has taken a toll on his family. His wife, Lawanna, and four children, ages 3 to 12, still live in Pride, just outside Baton Rouge, while he works four days a week at the council's Washington headquarters.
...
So, Perkins is left to look at a slide show of his family on his desktop computer.
Are you kidding me? If he is so concerned about "Family" values, why in the hell doesn't this a-hole spend a little more time with his own damn family?
These are the types of people setting the moral agenda for the country. Fabulous.
Oh yeah, and according to their own web site, the Family Research Council "champions marriage and family as the foundation of civilization, the seedbed of virtue and the wellspring of society."
Really?
