The 101st keyboard warriors at Red State opened up a can of "Whup-Ass" on Congressional Freshman (Freshwoman, Freshperson?) Nancy Boyda (D-KS) on Monday. They chastised her for walking out on part of last months House Armed Services hearing. She "walked out" for all of ten minutes during the testimony of retired General Jack Keane. Of course Keane was explaining to the committee what great piles of rubble progress was being made in Iraq.
Boyda was apparently having none of it, and let Keane have it when she returned. The writer then linked to a USA Today Story regarding the reduction in IED attacks on civilian targets in the past few months.
The story focused on the fact that IED attacks on civilian targets such as market places and mosques have dropped by "almost" 50%, from about 130 in March, to about 70 in July. Well, the percentage is actually about 46%, but what the hell. And of course the writer and commentors jumped all over this statistic as evidence that the surge escalation is working.
