Bill Frist and Tom Delay have both aligned themselves with the radical religious right, and both have espoused support for creationism and its slick marketable cousin intelligent design.
Who knows if they honestly believe this stuff or if they're just pandering to their religious base, it doesn't matter. What matters is that in order to continue to receive support from this base they need to continue to appease it.
On this basis, I'd like to see Bill Frist and Tom Delay answer the following question:
"Do you believe, like many evangelicals, that the earth is around 5000 years old?"
With a followup:
"If not, do you agree with the scientific community that the earth is billions of years old?"
Their crazy creationist young-earth evangelical political base thinks the world is new and the Rapture(TM) is coming. Delay and Frist can either reveal themselves to be crazies to the vast majority of the American people, or separate themselves from their lunatic political base, with consequences to follow.
