Barack Obama speaks a different language, and the Old Guard of the Democratic party is utterly confused (so goes an excellent article by Tom Foreman of CNN's Washington Bureau).
In 'Raw Politics': Words matter for Clinton, Obama, Foreman (with humorous examples) points out that while Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have similar plans, they speak different languages when trying to communicate with voters.
Foreman contends that Obama is succeeding because he has been using the language that people have been longing to hear.

I realize that this subject may have previously been broached in other diaries here, but I wanted to share some inspiration that came my way this afternoon.
I consider myself a spiritual person, and the Bible is one of the books I draw great inspiration from. There are many other works offering great inspiration to myself and others, but a few words about some characters from the Bible were my source of reference and inspiration for this piece.
I'm hoping that everyone will be open-minded enough to bear with me a bit.

Has anyone else seen those "Be afraid, Obama looks to be losing" diaries? Seems like I see one after each big Obama victory as we head towards the next contest/contests. Hey, I recognize that the folks who post these diaries want to fire up Obama supporters to get out the vote, but I think we're beyond having to use that kind of tactic.
The facts are, Barack Obama HAS huge momentum, his support IS growing, and his supporters are more fired up and active than ever!
There is such a positive aura about the whole Obama campaign right now that it's become truly infectious!
Unless Hillary can come up with some kind of miracle vaccine against this viral Obama support, her chances look very dim indeed!

I was a bit amused to find an interesting and revealing front page article about the Hillary Clinton campaign from the Cleveland Plain Dealer in my perusing of today's headlines over at Newseum.org
It was a story about how the Clinton campaign went about setting up a staged media event in delegate-rich Northeast Ohio.
The article talks in detail about how they chose a mom-and-pop diner to be the backdrop for Hillary's talk about the nation's struggling economy.
More below the fold:
Huh? That's the title of a great diary by Reed Hundt over at Talking Points Memo.
He talks about some of the Clinton campaign's attempts at trying to raise Barack Obama's negatives, and how they seem to be backfiring.
Here are a few excerpts:
Barack Obama is about to speak at the Wisconsin Democratic Party's Founders Day Dinner.
You can view it live over at C-SPAN. Here's the link:C-SPAN Coverage of the Wisconsin Democratic Party's Founders Day Dinner
The Governor of Wisconsin just began speaking.
Hillary Clinton already has spoken. Pretty standard fare. She got a cordial reception, but nothing outstanding, in my opinion.
I'm just curious as to how people might vote if Barack Obama decided to run as an independent if he fails to get nominated by the Democratic party even if he wins the most delegates and popular vote.
The likelihood of this happening is extremely remote, and would possibly be the Republican party's dream scenario (as if a Hillary nomination in itself wouldn't be), but it's a slight reality, given Hillary Clinton's high negatives even among this year's primary and caucus voters.
So, here's a poll to see how such a scenario might play out among potential voters here on this blog.

As they say, de-Nile (denial) ain't just a river in Egypt, but it's becoming an overwhelming flood in the Clinton camp, and they're about to become the New Orleans of politics.
The levees are breaking, and ignoring the problems, pretending they aren't there, will not prevent the inevitable disaster from overtaking them.
This isn't gloating, it's the reality of the situation!
It's not just the Potomac Primary that will be determining delegates today!
Overseas, voting in the global primary by Democrats Abroad, conducted online and at 76 polling places in 33 countries, began Feb. 5 and ends today for an estimated 6.5 million Americans who live overseas!
Democrats Abroad has been given state-level recognition by the Democratic National Committee, and will award 22 delegates who will attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
Yesterday, my wife, just out of curiosity, decided to survey Facebook for groups supporting either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. What she didn't expect to find was the overwhelming number of groups against Hillary Clinton.
Her survey of the first 200 groups she checked on for each candidate showed that, regarding Hillary groups, 148 out of 200 were groups with names expressing negative opinions towards her. Regarding Obama groups, 12 out of 200 were groups with names expressing negative opinions towards him.
Many of the group names were quite creative - some just downright entertaining, so I've decided to list a few of them below the fold (along with group membership numbers):
It appears that interest in the candidacy of Barack Obama has led to a massive and overwhelming turnout at Democratic caucus polling places throughout Nebraska.
