Last year when I would argue with friends, acquaintances, or simply random people who would listen to me about why I thought then-Senator Obama should be President, I would always be sure to say how "cool" he always was, in contrast to McCain's fiery side. This was effective in showing them that, when it comes to the guy who has the nuclear codes, it may just be a good idea to be able to think calmly and clearly in high-stress situations.
And this remains true. I do not want a president who gets angry easily, no matter how liberal and good intentioned he may be. But, the health care debate has made me wish for a President who could be a little less polite to the private health care industry, the Republicans, and the wealthy. More to the point, a President who while trying Bipartisanship options first, isn't afraid to abandon such efforts when they are obviously not going to work.
BTW, before anyone reads on, this diary makes the assumption that health care reform is necessary in its current non-watered down public option included form. If you disagree with this premise, this diary is pointless to read.
