This won't be that long of a diary, I just want to bring something to the attention of the community that I believe is being missed.

They will trigger default no matter what! Guess what, John Boehner and the republicans never intended to come to some sort of grand bargain. The just wanted to make it look like they were negotiating in good faith and as soon as it appeared they were close to a deal and ever closer to the deadline, the plan was and has always been to walk away, blame it on the president and then introduce a poison pill of a bill that they knew no one could ever really accept. Then they back off of that and introduce a less draconian bill as that at the very last minute that would allow them to move the date of default to next year during the election.

Woohoo, hell yea, I just got done voting, voted 12 times and I'm here to tell ya that it ain't as hard as people say it is! Heck I just went outside and changed my ball cap from the one that read John Doe 1st to John Doe 2nd and walked right back in and voted again, the poll worker said, wow you look just like that John Doe the 1st that was just in here and I said hell yea, I'm from Georgia and we're all related ifin you know what I mean...

Yes, I'm referring to this diary

In which the diarist states the following.

CNN is reporting that It was Chris Dodd who inserted the language that allowed the AIG bonuses to go forward. Dodd apparently appeared and admited it himself, claiming to be acting at the request of people at the Treasury Department. He inserted a clause that negated the Wyden/Snow amenment, required companies to pay their bonuses> Dodd is being accused of taking more AIG money than any other Senator, he denied this story on camera just yesterday.

This is bad. Dodd was already in trouble for re-election next year after moving his family to Iowa for the Presidential campaign. Now I would suspect he's political toast. He may not even last his term.

Like a worn out shoe that you just can't seem to get rid of because it is just so darn comfortable, the right wingnuttery of this country have now brought out the old tried and true voter fraud of multiple votes by a single person.

Sheesh, the ignorance of these people really does deserve nothing but consistent mockery, I mean simple basic math that even third or 4th graders can perform can easily debunk the affect of this type of voter fraud if in deed it ever really happened, which of course, as we all know, it is simply nothing more than a fantasy belonging of wonderland proportions.

But that's fine, lets just take them at their word and see how this whole thing really would play out, what it would take to play it out and what affect it would actually have.

So lets all pretend that our new favorite new media figure "Joe the Plumber" is pissed about a possible Obama presidency and has a secret plan to commit voter fraud by voting numerous times, and lets run the scenario below the fold.

Is it just me but doesn't this whole bailout thing resemble a multi-trillion dollar short sell?

Lets face it there are at least two hard facts we know for certain.
(In this scenario I am going to exclude the Fannie and Freddie holdings.)

The "paid for price" of the mortgage related debt market financed by commercial outlets is nearly 7 trillion dollars.
The "market price" of the mortgage related debt market is far less than what it was priced at.

There is another thing I think we can all agree on, and that is that this $700 billion figure is nothing more than a revolving credit line.

So lets pretend we are entering into one of these future transactions that the $700 billion credit line is going to be used for.

And lets pretend that the 7 trillion price paid is actually worth 65% of that, and that is a very conservative estimate of the actual worth of those assets. So that's 7 trillion dollars that is actually worth $4.55 leaving $2.45 trillion dollars to be washed out.

Lets do a transaction after the fold and see how it all washes out.

It's become pathological. John McCain just claimed on TV that Sarah Palin has never requested an earmark for her state -- when actually her state gets more earmarks than any other state in the country. And this year she asked for $197 million worth of them herself.

The View folks, The View, this ain't tough media here.

The Liar Liar Pants on Fire narrative is starting to take hold folks.

I have said it in a couple of comments and I thought I'd say it in a diary, and this goes to all of you hand wringers out there about Obama's ad strategy.

All Obama has to do right now is become the most media friendly presidental candidate in history!

Let me say this, I really don't like you one bit or your politics, but the truth is you ain't as bright as people think you are, neither is your husband Todd and neither is the rest of your family, and when I mean that, I mean it as it comes to raw politics in the lower 48 states, and the fact that the republicans will do anything to stay in power, even destroy a couple of Alaskan families in the process.

recently George Bush was all over the news jumping up and down about the deficit going down down down.

Well, if so then why is the Federal debt going up up up?

So folks, today, with still a month and a half to go the Federal debt for fiscal 2006 stands at 555 billion dollars, 2 billion more than for all of 2005.

Well folks, its been a great few days of diaries and a great week of trash talking about the failures of conservatism, conservative government and the great conservative walkback. Hunter really outdid himself yesterday in his The Great Conservative Walkback, a classic to be remembered for years to come, I have always wanted to use the phrase "unicorn fart" in a post and Hunter beat me to the punch by using it in that diary. If you have not read it, then I suggest you go take the time to do so now

However, I think that we need to get to the real root cause of why conservative government does not work and why Andrew Sullivan, Bob Barr, Paul Craig Roberts, blogger, The Cunning Realist, many republicans, and all of your friends and family who call themselves conservative, should really think of finding a new term for their philosophy on governing.
